  1. Certainly, but I do believe that will all the Cosmere interaction (Hoid's appearance, the other world-hoppers(?) [Galladon, Demoux, etc], Odium killing whomever, etc) Roshar is going to become a very important Cosmere planet.
  2. IIRC, isn't Emperor's Soul ~10 years after Elantris? And Elantris is supposed to take place around the same time as the first Mistborn trilogy. I could be wrong though.
  3. I kind of figured that other books might be shorter simply because he doesn't have as much worldbuilding to do this time. Plus, I noticed he had some pacing issues in TWoK. Speaking of baby, that baby he's having is going to severely cut down on his writing time.
  4. Same for me. Ordered it early this morning and it shipped out today. Well, it's Sunday so I kind of doubt that but I should get it by Wednesday. So that's excellent.
  5. Yeah. If there's only going to be a new SA book every 1.5 years or so, then I expect them to be just as long as the first.
  6. Yeah I know it's gonna be his next "epic" series after Stormlight Archive. I just wonder how it will play out. Speculation includes wondering if it'll be the 'final' cosmere series, or if anything will come after, especially since Dragonsteel probably won't be completed for ~20 years. And if there will be a gap in that like the planned Stormlight gap between Books 5 and 6. I just need to jump forward in time about fifteen years.
  7. I'm re-reading Mistborn, and then I'm gonna re-read The Way of Kings. As far as Shannara goes, I really enjoyed them but I do accept that most of them followed the same formula. Genesis of Shannara was very cool to me because it connected his Knights of the Word series to Shannara, and meta-series is the best thing ever, in my opinion. Probably why I find the cosmere so fascinating.
  8. Bit off-topic, but do we know if Dragonsteel is going to be a cosmere-prequel, or sequel (say, after WoK and maybe during future Mistborn or something?)
  9. Dota 2 and some Torchlight II.
  10. Okay. Just a miswording. Thanks for clearing that up. Feel free to delete the thread. I would if I were able to.
  11. I think Hoid is just secretive because he's an important character established early on in a 20+-book meta-series.
  12. So in this Q&A, question 30... Brandon is talking about Cosmere origins, and we arrive at this snippet: It started with Elantris, which is the first one that I wrote in the Cosmere and right after it Dragonsteel, which is actually a prequel but in a different universe. Now, since Dragonsteel is a prequel before the Shattering(?), what if Adonalsium's Shattering created a new universe (or alternate universe), a la Big Bang, or something? Or maybe I have the context all wrong. If this hasn't been mentioned already, then it's something to think about I guess.
  13. Do we know when Emperor's Soul takes place compared to Elantris? I just decided to finally get Elantris read since it's a Shardworld book; not sure why I didn't years ago. I read Mistborn then Warbreaker then found out about the Cosmere after Warbreaker. Guess I'll scan through some more of the Elantris sub-forum for theories and such.
  14. I haven't read book 2 yet but I plan to start soon. My only qualm with book 1's ending is that I felt that some of the better reveals and twists were the early/mid one(s). People who have read it will know what I'm talking about.
  15. Alright so bear with me here and I am not the greatest at picking up on little things. I'll start: >What exactly "healed" Arelon, or was corrupted and then fixed by Raoden's drawing? >How do we know the names Devotion and Dominion? (Are most Shard names revealed during Q&As? Besides the Mistborn Shards, obviously) >Do we know the names of who held the Shards because of The Letter? And I'm assuming that Elantris 2 will probably be the Elantrians vs. Wyrn's Empire. Is Emperor's Soul going to be the second in the three-book Elantris universe? Or just a side-story? I can't think up anything else right now. I've never read Elantris but I decided to finally get around to it because it's a Cosmere book, and now I'll reread TWoK then maybe the Mistborn books just to pick up on everything. P.S. If there is a list of known/discussed/basic Elantris theories, please post them for a simple-minded reader such as myself. (Same goes for the other books but I know this is not the proper sub-forum). Thanks!
  16. Just want to ask how to pronounce some words properly. I've been saying Galladon as "Galla-don" instead of "Gull-ah-don" (think "Aladdin") Heod as "Hoe-ed" and Reod as "Ree-odd" and Shaod as "Sha-odd"? Are any of these pronunciations correct?
  17. Ohhh. That's right. Okay, mistake cleared up. Thanks. I guess a Shard can warp someone's personality until they become somebody completely different.
  18. Some questions I'd like to add to the list, if that's allowed, or just present to discuss: Was Adonalsium conscient/sentient? (I'm assuming yes since Shards have been sentient, like Ruin.) Did someone shatter Adonalsium? (If so, there must exist some ridiculously powerful deity somewhere.) Where was Adonalsium when it was shattered? (I just wonder if Adonalsium was floating in space somewhere, or actually on a planet [Yolen?] and what on earth it would be doing.) Did someone create Adonalsium, or was it merely a product of the universe's creation? Of course, I don't see any of this getting answered, but the majority of my questions revolve back around to Adonalsium, and the concept of it. I hope we get more hints about it periodically as we've got well over ten years until the first major-Shardworld series (Dragonsteel)
  19. I expect we'll find out soon as the recent Q&A all but put out a neon sign that said Nightblood will be fighting Shardblades which one can assume that elements of Nalthis and Roshar will eventually converge. Which is very cool. However, I wonder if that will be during Warbreaker 2 or a later Stormlight novel (maybe the second book's epilogue will be related).
  20. I was interested in The Liar of Partinel but then it got scrapped so that's disappointing. I want to read The Silence Divine because the story is intriguing, and Warbreaker 2 to find out about Nightblood and hopefully this Warbreaker/Stormlight converging that was hinted about in Sanderson's Q&A. I think Alloy of Law got me confused about which Mistborn books will be released, so based off this thread, is there going to be a future trilogy too? The modern one will still be crazy, I'm sure. And of course, Dragonsteel for pure Cosmere-relation. Seriously, this whole Cosmere ideal is basically my fetish. Blending in stories and worlds just intrigues me like no other.
  21. Ah interesting. I saw that name on the upcoming books list but there was nothing about it. Certainly helps, thanks! Interesting to know that it's in the same system as Roshar. Gotta be a crazy system with all that stuff going on on those planets.
  22. Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum. Didn't know where else to ask and I can delete afterwards. Anyway... A while back, I read about an upcoming story he was going to write that was Cosmere-related (iirc [Do we call them Cosmere books or Shardworld books?]) about having disabilities which made you stronger. I was wondering if that has any information anywhere I can read about. Sorry that I don't remember much else. And thanks.

    Legion

I think so, but it's been a while so I want to double check: Is Legion a Cosmere book or no?
  24. I wonder.. I don't remember every bit of the book, but unless it specifically mentioned the ten armies as "Unite them", then "Unite them..." could be loosely interpreted into uniting the Shards currently on Roshar. Somehow.
  25. Good enough for me. Thanks.
