So, I've noticed a couple roleplays pop up recently (turns out about half weren't actually roleplays, but whatever), but I'd been toying around with a magic system (or five, rolled up into one), that I thought might make an interesting roleplay. Setting is pretty much whatever you guys want to make it, and the magic system is detailed in the spoiler below. Don't worry, pretty much of them can be summed up in about a paragraph or two. For the sake of speed, we'll all start in Coulforrin, the capital of a republic now controlled by a dictator. I'll get the ball rolling with this bit of roleplay: Atadin sighed, before calling to the door. "Enter." Recruits for the City Guard were uncommon, but they came around often enough that Atadin could delegate the interviewing process to Major Gard. Unfortunately, this recruit had specifically requested to join the Investigative Squadron. That meant Atadin had to personally evaluate the recruitee. The first thing Atadin noticed was her eyes. When you worked with and against Bonded of all kinds, you learned to look at the eyes. And he was struck. Redder than a sunset, and while it was hard to tell in the daylight, he was sure they glowed as well. "I wasn't told you were a Metalbound." "I don't advertise it." She slid into the chair. If he hadn't already known, or heard her voice, Atadin wouldn't have realized she was a woman. Her head was covered in copper plating, forming a sort of helmet. And although her clothes obscured it, he was sure she had a full suit of integrated armor underneath. "Why not? Coulforrin is an enlightened city. Even Wildbound are free to walk the streets." Broken Hells, we even have one on our Investigative squad. She snorted. "Doesn't matter what the Dictator claims, this city is enlightened as a closed box." "Wait one moment, the City Guard is funded by the High War Councilor." I may not think highly of him, but I occupy an appointed position. Please don't make this difficult for me. Atadin would most likely have to hire her, the squad had too few members to turn down a Bonded of any type. At least if they could keep their unpopular politic views quiet. "And I don't intend to risk that funding, I just assumed this was a closed meeting, and besides, it's best you know my views now and don't get surprised by them on the field." "You talk like you're already hired." "Can you afford to not hire me?" Break and bind her, she did her research. "Better a funded understaffed squad than a fund less squad with one extra member that we can't pay." "Don't worry, I'll keep it quiet." She smirked. The arrogance annoyed Atadin. Back when he had joined the Guard, you had to start at the bottom. Now, with a decent education and a bond, you could join the most desired position right away. "You're in, provided you can pass the physical." I'll have to go tell Bruth that she gets the special treatment. Technically it was illegal to have different tests for Bonded and regs, but what Vithankre didn't know couldn't hurt him. "Goodday, on your way out could you send Melna in?" "Of course." Atadin waited just long enough, then said, "The proper address is now sir, or commander. I expect decorum in my squad." At least where one of the High War Councillors spies or Inquisitors could be lurking. That got Atadin thinking. Could she be a spy for the Vith? That deeply unsettled him. He would have to keep an eye on her. Melna walked in. She was the wife of the of the ordinary guard members, hired to fill Atadin's great need for an assistant, and to allow her to be closer to her husband. "Commander?" Atadin leaned back. "Send a message down to Bruth, tell him he's got a Metalbound recruit he needs to test." Ah, Broken Hells, might as well. "And send in that other recruit, I'll give Garrin a easy day today." "Yes, sir." Technically she didn't need to say sir, but the woman was ten times as militarily minded as her husband. He was surprised she hadn't decided to bond a soldier and join a war pair. A few moments later, another knock sounded from the door. "Enter," Atadin called.

Long Game 92: Process of Elimination

On second thought, you're running this game, you likely aren't a man of reason. *Sack of coins disappears* bribe, an officer of the law *scoffs at the sheer incredulity of it* why would you ever accuse me of such a thing?- 3885 replies

How do you imagine your fellow Sharders?
The Unknown Character replied to S. Stormy's topic in General Discussion
I imagine @Matrim's Dice the same as I imagine Mat normally (black hair, kinda upside down teardrop face, wicked smile), but I now have added tall to that description although it should really be giant. I also imagine Kas (don't really want to @ him) as a face with square glasses staring at a screen on occasion. By on occasion I mean every time he mentions statistics. -

Frustration's Firepower Index: Feruchemy
The Unknown Character replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
With regards to the iron feruchemy debate, Wax explicitly states that tapping Iron adds force, but he has to hit in a certain weight, essentially dropping himself onto the target. He is referring to a wall, but there is no way it does not apply to people as well. Also, @StanLemon, if a WoB and a book contradict, then the book is correct, however, this WoB does not actually contradict the book, it just says a character is mistaken. It recontextualizes it, not contradicts. -
It's boring (adjective, unenjoyable) boring (noun, digging). It's a similar pun to Elon Musk's 'Boring company'

I'm guessing Shardplate yes, Shardblade no. Although I think any hordeling could summon the Shardblade. @lacrossedeamon I think you're just refusing to believe the obvious. All the evidence is against Dawnshards being usable on their own, including the in-book behavior of the Sleepless. -

I don't know, I'm kinda assuming both are individual, but Zinc might be weird. Actually, I think Zinc boosts a single hordeling, but in conglomerate raises overall mental speed. Indeed, that's why I needed living plate instead of dead. -

I'm guessing the aforementioned no spikes WoB means I can't be Aluminum spiked properly, plus I am the same speed as you but I also have rioting Primer cubes plus extra tapping my speed while filling Brass allowing me to rewrite Soulstamps with changes to my cremlings and other various things at insane speeds. Battle plan without Dawnshard because Dawnshards are boring: Super-speed really fast and send out Cremlings with Steelminds and Ettmetal cubes, which can be charged with Division or Chromium and Lashed at enemies to make bombs. Since I have forty, they will be pretty hard to avoid and easy to retrieve. If possible I will put Aons on them so they explode more if someone tries to steal them. By the way, all of my Cremlings are outfitted in living plate, and my designated forger Cremling are inside of a circular shardblade. If you somehow kill all of them and survive my bombs, I just use soulstamps to make it so that I bred more earlier. I can also use A-gold to assist my forgeries. If I ever need to break out of my cage, I will just litter the walls of it with Aons to kill anything outside in a myriad of ways. -

I wonder what Soulcasting would do to a Deepest One, would they be transformed with it? New Better Character: Does anyone want to turn this into a crazy overpowered roleplay? -

The Unknown Character replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Assuming you have to make your powers after you enter the arena, you would probably die one way or another. If you took Bendalloy, maybe with a couple extra spikes to increase your power, you might be able to do it. Depends if Bendalloy gets bigger or faster with more power. Otherwise maybe double steel would be enough. OK, I think I can still work this. -

The Unknown Character replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Good point. Medallions should still work, but I could only compound one at a time. I kinda wonder how Sazed put that limit on it. @Frustration, are we assuming most recent version of all powers or best version or something else? Do any of you people who have already read TLM know if you can access stored feruchemical attributes that you have already made? -
Who would win, the Ultimate Cosmere free for all.
The Unknown Character replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
@Frustration, I think you mistook Dysian for Siah, because you gave the Sleepless ten and the Dysian (synonymous with Sleepless according to the coppermind) five. So I'm a Horneater Lerasium Mistborn with extra powerful steel pushes and steel compounding. I'm also a Gold, Steel, and Chromium compounder. I can't be controlled because I only have three spikes, and I'm a fourth oath skybreaker, so I have division and gravitation, a shardblade and shardplate. I'm also Aethorbound to Zephyr, which I can make explode. Not to mention being a Fifth Heightening Elantrian, which we now know is overpowered if you can power it, and I think I can with breaths. I also have a Medallion that allows me to compound superstrength and to have a conpounded supply of water for my Aethor, and a Soulcaster to change the air I breath to water in emergencies. Oh, and I have Primer cubes I can use any of my Lerasium power level abilities on. I think you fail to realize how useless half the feruchemical abilities are. That was extremely annoying by the way, this was my plan. I do wonder if the split hordling could create a new Sleepless, but I'll just be a Horneater I guess. Edit: I didn't do it because I had no idea how to rate it, but I would probably replace the soulcaster and maybe Bendalloy compounding with a boon to never be dehydrated. -
When did you figure it out?
