  1. Thank you! I'm having so much fun going through everyone's theories, I'm glad i could get here right after a major release! If i had to make a call, I'd go with Oathbringer, but Bands of Mourning comes in at a VERY close second. As for favorite character though, it's Maya from Stormlight by a longshot. She may not do much, but she has yet to have a scene that didn't make me full on ugly cry. That's so cool! I was unaware that there was a way to access unpublished works that didn't get wide release on Brandon's site, how would one request that?
  2. Honestly, with Keldakar tethered to his home planet, I could see the GB set up in a way that has both an absolute leader, and also several lesser leaders. It's possible Mraize IS the leader of the Rosharan chapter, and he reports to their boss through his babsk (or, apparently, by interacting with his "avatar"). If i may don my tinfoil hat, I'd like to kick in the idea that Iyatil, whose identity seems rather strongly connected to southern Scadrial (even if she didn't grow up there) may have enough connection to Kelsier that he may be able to speak through her using some form of hemalurgy. This would explain the comment about the Avatar without invalidating him as a candidate.
  3. I've been lurking here for about a year now, but avoiding most threads because my cosmere knowledge was incomplete and I was concerned about spoilers. Thankfully, my Arcanum Unbounded read butted up right against Dawnshard and Rhythm of War, so now I'm as realmatically aware as I'm gonna get (although I am currently skimming WoKPrime, and then I want to check out the prose version of White Sand), so I'm here to join in the discussion!
  4. I read Elantris a few months ago, and I recall that Hrathen ALSO keeps a metal box that contains a seon. He removes the seon before using it, so I don't think it's exactly the same construction, but I'd be willing to guess that the two might be related.
  5. We also know that he rips out his carapace at each birth and replaces it with metal plates. Presumably for the increased armor that metal provides, but due to the nature of the various metals throughout the cosmere it would feel irresponsible not to wildly speculate about whether he has access to some unsealed metalminds, or whether his grandpa may have been a terrisman with a crustacean fetish.
  6. Unfortunately I'm fairly certain they don't, at least not on a large scale. Sixth of the Dusk takes place at the far end of the cosmere timeline, long after everything else, and they get freaked out by Although, the new chapter shows that
  7. I've been kicking this (crackpot) theory around for a bit, and this seems like the best place to bring it up - could Kaladin have dragon blood? I know, it's a bit of a long shot, but "Son of Tanavast" implies a connection to the vessel. I'm not sure if Tanavast was a dragon, but if he was doinking cultivation, then there's still an excuse for dragon blood. I don't really LIKE the idea, mostly because it would be a weird cosmere shoe-horn to pull a lineage from Yolen into a main character's backstory, but Roshar is becoming increasingly cosmere-aware, so it isn't impossible.
  8. To tack on to Seloun's point, there's the sketch in RoW of the peakspren, which notes that they can conceal themselves inside of rocks and emerge from others nearby, regardless of size.
