  1. There's also a part in one of Adolin's chapters in Shadesmar that says while honorspren don't need to breathe in the Cognitive Realm, they gasp for shock value, or something like that. So it could be theorized that they don't have lungs, which are necessary for Physical Realm-based beings to have.
  2. That makes sense that Thaidakar is a title, especially when you think about this WoB:
  3. What if it's Ishar?
  4. Maybe she's looking for new Vessels because at this point the existing Vessels are almost completely taken over by their Intents, and having new ones would "revitalize" them, so to speak.
  5. I wonder if the "Ado" portion of her name has any connection to Adonalsium.
  6. My memory is fuzzy but the Ghostbloods' goal is to find a form of portable, infinite Investiture, right? That isn't connected to a specific Shard?
  7. That'd be crazy if Ado has a Cognitive Shadow that's been chilling in Shadesmar for the past 10,000+ years. I definitely think that Sixteen's gonna be relevant at some point down the line though.
  8. Tanavast is described as being "a tall, muscular man with dark skin and pure white hair" (Coppermind) so it might not be him unless he chose to alter his appearance as a Cognitive Shadow. But I definitely think he has something to do with the Shards or Adonalsium in general because of the name. Sixteen is described as short, pale, and bald and speaks in a language that Shallan doesn't know, so I bet it'll be easy to find him in other books based on that description/
  9. Plus really their only interactions were when they were trying to kill each other so...
  10. I found an interesting WoB about the Ghostbloods and the Sleepless: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/387/#e12657 Especially since it's revealed in chapter 64 that I wonder if it's (Dawnshard spoilers) These parts of the WoB, specifically, interested me: Stormlightning Would the Ghostbloods try to recruit [a Sleepless]? Brandon Sanderson Um, the Ghostbloods would not trust a Sleepless. Stormlightning They wouldn't? So they wouldn't even try to get one? Brandon Sanderson They would not. They would expect a Sleepless to take over their organization or try to. And try to stay far away from the Sleepless. So what would've changed their minds?
  11. Who's Yxili?
  12. Soooo what are we calling Mr. T now? Taravandium? Vargodium? Toadium?
  13. Maybe a braid or a bun? Woman Surgebinders manage it, but I get that it wouldn't be too practical for the amount of fighting Kaladin gets himself into.
  14. This isn't a solid theory but what if Kelsier formed the Ghostbloods with Spook's help? Since Kelsier is currently a Cognitive Shadow he would've needed an "emissary" to the Physical Realm, if that makes sense. Spook hasn't been explicitly seen in any books post-MB but could still be working behind the scenes. And the name "Ghostbloods" could come from "Spook" and Hemalurgy, maybe.
  15. Super interesting theory! And since a major part of her character is about resisting change, maybe book 6 will be about her accepting and encouraging it. Additionally, Cultivation's choice in having Lift use Lifelight, aside from connecting her more to Cultivation, might be similar to how: Mistborn spoilers Since Honor was splintered, it'd be interesting to see how and if Dalinar is able to "unite" all the pieces.
  16. I wonder what her actual intentions are, like if her plans are completely confined to Roshar or that she has designs similar to what Rayse-as-Odium's were in terms of thinking of the full cosmere.
  17. I just finished a complete marathon read of RoW and my jaw has been stuck to the floor for the past twenty minutes. Freaking out over:
  18. I just finished reading chapters 1-19 and had a google doc going as I went along for questions/theories that popped up, as well as reactions. I'm gonna post them in the hidden comments for discussion (also hidden for length) Disclaimer: I'm not 100% well-versed in the intricacies of Connection, Investiture, etc. so please correct me if I have some of the terminology or schematics wrong! Second Disclaimer: I've only read chapters 1-19 so can discussion just stick to those chapters? First spoiler is questions, second is theories/predictions, third is reactions. Sorry in advance for the length! I edited down the veritable word vomit from the google doc into this. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts/reactions too! I'm not going into any other RoW threads for risk of further spoilers but I just can't wait three days for more discussion. Third Disclaimer: None of these theories are hills that I would die on so PLEASE feel free to shoot holes in them. Happy reading!
  19. Is it possible to Splinter a Dawnshard? Has that been asked before?
  20. It's in Oathbringer when Szeth is taking the Skybreakers' test to swear the Second Ideal.
  21. I think the fact that combining the Command with Investiture enhances power lends credence to the theory that Nightblood's a Dawnshard. This WoB makes me think that maybe Nightblood is a Dawnshard with a Command along the lines of "Destroy", and it being in the hands of Szeth, a Skybreaker, would amplify his power/ability. Questioner What’s your most terrifying character, and why is it Nightblood? Brandon Sanderson Ha. Nightblood is pretty terrifying… You know, an object created to destroy evil but doesn’t know what it is? Questioner When you brought it back...I had <to like shut the book> a little bit and like, scary. Brandon Sanderson I wanted you to think that Nightblood in the hands of Szeth should be one of the most terrifying things that you have ever contemplated. Shadows of Self San Jose signing (Oct. 9, 2015)
  22. I think I saw a theory somewhere on the forums that Odium already might've had a Dawnshard at one point which he then used to kill several Shards, but I'd need to find it again.
  23. I think maybe Dafne Keen for young(ish) Vin if you're looking for an actress in her teens or Anya Taylor Joy if you're looking for mid-twenties.
  24. I like the idea that Cultivation is an application of the Survival Shard within the Change Shard. Going off of that logic would some other ones be maybe Devotion (Survive>Connect) and Dominion (Unite>Survive)? However, I don't know about Unite and Connect as being two distinct Dawnshards because they seem too similar to me. Maybe one is under the umbrella of the other?
  25. Me too! I'm hoping RoW will shed some light on Willshaper surges because Transportation seems pretty straightforward with what we've seen with Jasnah but I know next to nothing about Cohesion. I wish you could combine Illumination and Transportation though!
