It definitely helps if you have more exposure to the issue. I didn't realize it at first, but it later became quite obvious to me once I learned more about how gangs work and operate

They are VERY MUCH a gang in the Stormlight archive series Their behavior with using debt and knowledge is very similar to what IRL gangs do

I love kelsier but I also don't want him to be a spotlight character as much as he seems like he is going to be. Manipulation in the sense the roshar Ghostbloods were doing is quite bad (and is the reason why gangs are such a big issue in some places)

Idk I just don't think I can view the name of what is an incredibly manipulative gang in the light of "hey they're actually really cool" and not get pissed I mean the scadrians aren't really all that interesting overall and I liked the first three books much more than the second three books in terms of relevance to the cosmere

I could honestly care less about the ghostbloods. I liked the inclusion of the ghostbloods "gang" in Stormlight, and I think it does a great job at illustrating the kinds of malicious relationships, but I do not like the idea that everyone on Scandrial is now going to just be a "Ghostblood" especially when the group itself has a sort of thing for being manipulative and just evil
