  1. “In Aerduar, there are these things called Siphospirlia. Well, most people call them Sky Spirals. Anyway, they’re a species of Siphonophore similar to Apolemia but airborn. They’re basically these giant strings of coexisting organisms that float through the sky and catch microscopic prey. They’re awesome. What instruments do you play?”
  2. “Orange! Yours?”
  3. My weird theory about the Singers’ betrayal of the spren is that it had to do with turning Ba-Ado-Mishram into an unmade. She’s obviously important to the spren, and she was a high princess of the voidbringers. Maybe she gave the singers forms of power not of Odium before she was unmade.
  4. Aren’t you able to connect her to your device so that she plays your device audio through her?
  5. Yeah. I can do podcasts, just only one at a time, and all my time is filled up with Shardcast .
  6. “Oh, you know, I’m not very interesting. Just plain old me. I can do some magic, but it’s nothing compared to what some of the people here can do. I’m from down south, though. Aerduar, it’s called. Probably not on the map.” Ara shivers. “It’s warmer down there, except in the mountains.” I like this girl. I can trust her, right? Memory whispered back in Ara’s mind. “Ara, I can name at least ten different people in the last year you’ve trusted who have then betrayed you. You just met her six seconds ago!”
  7. “Then let’s go.” Kaesiel walks out the door.
  8. Okay, so I was playing in a Christmas one-shot last year where we (the characters) were all Santa’s elves who were going after the Grinch and his dog Max, who were a troll and barghest respectively. We had four characters in the party, about level 5, I think. A sorcerer, a fighter, a bard, and me, a rogue/fighter assassin multiclass. My character’s thing was that he had mask of the wild from his wood elf race, which allowed him to hide when he was only lightly obscured. I flavored this so that he had a pine tree costume. So, whenever he needed to hide, he would just stand really still and pretend to be a tree. Eventually, when our characters made it to the boss battle with Max and the Grinch, we tunneled into his cave through the ice using fire spells, then my character snuck in behind him and hid in the corner with a 20+ stealth check (we tunneled through the roof, if I remember correctly, so the baddies didn’t see us). So there we are, with our team positioned and ready to go. The Grinch starts to wonder where this Christmas tree in the corner came from, and walks over. So, I sneak attack him for 80-ish damage and start a surprise round. Then, in one round, our sorcerer absolutely nukes the poor troll with three fireballs using sorcery points using a combination of twinned spells and quickened spells, dealing 150-250 damage (I don’t remember exactly). The two enemies die in the first non-surprise round of combat without even getting a turn to act. Later, if I remember correctly, our GM even said he had buffed up the enemies and was worried they were going to be too powerful for us. We’re doing another (late) Christmas one-shot this year, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
  9. Kaesiel Manifested Calm as a shield of cold air around the group of three. No use getting themselves burned down with the market. “So, what’s the plan?” @Knight of Iron @AmazingGoob
  10. “Great! What kind of entertainment do you practice?”
  11. The conversation trailed off, and Ara found herself wondering about this new member of the group. She didn’t think they had been properly introduced yet. As the girl was packing, Ara walked up. “Hi! I’m Auriel,” she said, sticking out her hand, “but you can call me Ara. What brings you on this quest?”
  12. Well, they’re on break currently (actually, they may be back this Thursday, I forget), so you may have some time.
  13. “Hmm... on the other hand, the fire weapon seems useful. What would you say are the chances of getting that off of him?”
  14. I’ll celebrate with you! We need more people on this thread, and it takes some persistence to get that far. How are you liking it so far?
  15. “Yes” Kaesiel starts walking toward the door, holding a shotgun.
  16. “Good to know.” Kaesiel continued probing, keeping one eye in the physical, one in the Trace. Her scouting of the market’s perimeter made it a few hundred feet before her body’s anchor stopped her from going any further.
  17. “Nothing, really. Do you happen to have a bond with a psychic entity?”
  18. As she waited for the others to finish up, Kaesiel reached out with her other consciousness into the Trace Dimension, becoming aware of its silver-blue waters that surged and bent around her. The Trace behaved differently here. It didn’t stick to humans as well. Kaesiel could still use her powers, but stealing Notion wouldn’t take the corresponding thought with it. Then, with a start she noticed something else. The Whisperers were gone. She must be out of their range, here. Kaesiel reached out further, investigating her surroundings from a different perspective. Every mind had a reflection on this side. It drew in Notion like a whirlpool draining from the Trace to the physical. There was one whirlpool that didn’t belong to anyone in the room, though. It seemed to be connected to Exodus, somehow. That was strange. Had he bonded a shade?
  19. Ara walked up to the two. “What’s going on, here?” The Notioncloud she could see surrounding Orpheus was flickering strangely.
  20. “We should. I could use a workshop, too. I wonder what kind of currency they use here.”
