The editor still needs to finish proofreading and copy-editing before they can release. So just need to touch-up some things, but I believe it's out of Brandon's hands now. My understanding is it should be going out to Kickstarter backers as soon as it's ready.

When I finished Oathbringer, I thought maybe the large gem they used to trap Nergaoul (the Unmade responsible for the Thrill) was a Dawnshard.

Yeah, Shardbearers are 4th Dahn automatically. Amaram was already a Highlord beforehand, making him 3rd.

We know that Lift has some special abilities due to the Old Magic. Specifically, digesting food into Stormlight directly. If Lift were to become an Allomancer, would this affect her burning of metals?

That's a great point. Certainly a person of lower rank can have more power/land/money. Specifically, though, has the causation for the title Highlord been explained? Maybe it hasn't been answered. More specifically, is Highlord a title inherited by all sons of a Highlord? Does a lesser son of a Highprince become a Highlord? Or is it a specific title that has been granted?

Yeah, I saw that too, but it didn't really explain much of the title itelf. We know Highprinces rule each princedom, lesser nahns can rule cities, etc. I'm more wondering if a Highlord has a certain region they are lords over, or if it's just an honorific for the third dahn.

It seems to be a social title, and in the third nahn. Would that be a title for any non-inheriting descendants of the second dahn? Is it a general title for those in the third dahn without another title (such as General)?

I would say Final Empire is probably my favorite so far, but I haven't disliked one yet! Way of Kings is really up there for me too. I think my favorite character to have a POV of so far is probably Wayne, just because he is so wacky and interesting with how he views the world around him.

I'm new to the forums here. I started reading The Way of Kings back in May before realizing there was a greater Cosmere to consume. I've since read that, Elantris + the Emperor's Soul, Mistborn Era 1, Mistborn Era 2 (what is out) and Secret history, White Sands, and am currently making my way through Warbreaker before continuing my Stormlight journey. I guess you can say I'm hooked! I've been selectively avoiding parts of the wiki and forums, but it's hard to resist the temptation! Hoping I'll be able to navigate around spoilers enough until I'm caught up, but still participate. Planned Order going forward: Warbreaker (currently reading) Words of Radiance The rest of Arcanum Unbounded that I haven't read yet (ending with Edgedancer) Oathbringer My goal is to get caught up before Dawnshard comes out in October. Let me know your thoughts on my ordering!
