Hello everyone! I'm new to this thread and excited for it! I just finished writing my first book and am looking to query agents now. Does anyone have advice or examples of a query letter they've written? I've been scouring youtube and it seems like a lot of people do it differently. Sanderson said in one lecture that in order to keep himself encouraged to keep writing and meeting his deadlines he pictured a "phantom cubicle" chasing him and I definitely related haha. I just wanted to share because I think it's great and it's now the way I'm going to explain why I write to people who ask me.

@R J I think I just might, thanks for the suggestion! @Lunamor I've got enough stormlight to dampen the potency Favorite book so far is Words of Radiance. It was nice to finally see all of my favorite characters in one location interacting with each other. @Mist Hmmmm (lies) I'd have to say Surgebinding though I love how intricate Allomancy and Feruchemy are in the Mistborn series. @AonEne Thank you!

Hey everyone! I'm a new Sanderson fan but I already know I'm in it for life. I finished reading Oathbringer in May and finished Hero of Ages a few days ago. Onto Warbreaker or Elantris (I haven't decided which yet.) I was stoked to find out this site existed so I can nerd out with fellow Brando Sando obsessives. Looking forward to being part of the community!
