Martin starts over on the fire rune. -
"Nice to meet you, Trylle." Reese holds her hand out, glad it's a right-handed gesture. "How'd you end up here?"

"Ayia's over there." Martin points towards her. "She and Fadran were training."

"My name is... Reese." If this woman has seen Martin, using the name he knows is best. And even if she hasn't, if Martin comes through later, it could be useful. "And you are?"

"You'd need to ask Fadran or Ayia about that. I'm just a soldier."

"My name's Martin. And we're fighting an evil king." He thinks that's it, anyway.

Reese steps out warily. "Just me." She smiles politely. "I didn't know there was anyone else around here."

"Yeah?" Martin asks, hearing Fresco and stopping the rune drawing.

Reese kicks a fallen branch out of her way, swinging her arm awkwardly with the change in balance. Covering it had helped, but stuff is still getting through, and it's slowed a bit. She ducks behind a tree trunk as she hears someone nearby. That's weird. There haven't been people before. This place is empty. @Condensation

I've decided to skip Anne of Windy Poplars for the moment and go straight to Anne's House of Dreams, which I'm going to read for the first time! I've also been reading A Confusion of Princes.

My dog: barks at her big brother during Super Bowl
Me: kicks both outside to settle grievances
They come back in, and what does she do? Bark at her brother again. They were both sent outside during all songs for this reason.
Also she's never dealt with stairs before, it's hilarious, she has no idea what to do.

Welcome to the Shard!

I was testing my new desk layout, and I drew my Fellowship characters! I think the pencil came through pretty well. This isn't exactly how they look, but it's an idea.
I was gonna draw Martin drawing a rune, but I for some reason was thinking in monochrome and colored the scars black.
A note, the black ink on Martin's jacket is where he's ripped patches off.

I'm about a third through Anne of the Island. I'd forgotten how nuanced some of the characters become! I think I've DNF'd Hamlet. The layout just didn't work.

"50 feet..." Martin murmurs. He nods and begins tracing the rune, facing away from the others around them. His hands are shaking.
