  1. When your email inbox getting its act together about where to send your Shard notifications pleases you more than anything else in a day.
  2. Here's one that's not very likely, but it does fit: Keeper of Wave Tower. There is an ocean on Shinovar's coast, after all.
  3. Welcome to the Shard! What has been your favorite Cosmere/non-Cosmere book so far? A fellow musician! What instrument(s) do you play?
  4. I love the Cinderella 2015 soundtrack, and I finally bought it! The strings. The strings. Patrick Doyle is an incredible composer. Fun fact, he also scored Thor and Eragon. (movie:bad, music:great)
  5. Ah, we have similar tastes. Kaladin and WOK are two of my favorites too.
  6. Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite Sanderson character and/or book?
  7. "I'm currently hitting my head with a Russian Bible" - yours truly "Aw, fiddlesticks" - also me
  8. How good is it? How impatient should I be to kick my family out of the house for ___ blank hours so I can watch it?
  9. I knew they weren't in order even back in the day. Hopefully one day I can buy the seasons on DVD and hopscotch through them, but for the moment, probably better to just go with release order. I want to do a chronological watch for certain.
  10. I finally watched Revenge of the Sith! It only took me... a year of being allowed to watch it to do so. Also I watched a few episodes of The Clone Wars from Season One, and I remembered why I liked it when I was younger. (Also why I got stopped from continuing.)
  11. The search for The Bad Batch trailer music is driving me up the wall, but, hey, Samuel Kim made a really good remix of it, so, that's something. Really just Samuel Kim's Star Wars remixes (and Attack on Titan, which I don't even watch) in general are great, so that's been the soundtrack for my life for a while.
  12. *crawls out of my room, disoriented* ...what year and universe is it? Yeah, I finished Kingdom of Liars and Gemina. That was a good 900 pages, wildly different themes, but good. Gemina spoilers below: So, now I've got plans to reread Storm Glass and The Lost Planet, both about 300 pages long. I'm seeing a trend here... A fantasy, and then a sci-fi. Does anyone have recommendations for sci-fi stories? Something involving escaping a place, that shows the impact of war, but not super graphic. I can only check the library's new release page so often. Or good dystopians, I feel like I could pick up one or two of those.
  13. I'm steadily chipping away at Kingdom of Liars, with hopes of doing a five-hour marathon on Saturday to finish it off. I'm also reading Illuminae Files: Gemina, as the library finally got it! That's going pretty well, because it's easy to find a stopping place.
  14. After hammering out the first verse of 'Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory': I never said I was a good singer, just that I was enthusiastic.

Also, adding eighths to the Star-Spangled Banner is fun.

  15. I think time skips can cause plot holes, and occasionally having set dates for when things take place. (If I could make a calendar in Excel or something, I would be so powerful.) Mostly because even when writing things down, something will slip through the cracks.
  16. Good golly, I'd love to buy one of those Stormlight or Cobalt Guard pieces, but will I ever be able to justify the cost? And I know I like the Cobalt Guard. I always latch onto the ones who get mentioned three times and have few on-page appearances. Dunny, for example.
  17. (5,3) I feel called out in the best of ways.
  18. This is so cool that my sinuses cleared long enough to let me inhale in amazement.
  19. DNF'd Catch-22, and picked up Kingdom of Liars. I'm in a bit of a reading slump right now, so it's going slow. I'm going to get... whatever the first Grisha book is, one of my friends was very excited about the trailer, so I figured I'd pick up the book, and while I won't share the excitement that she has, I still hope to enjoy it.
  20. So, I have a really good Bluetooth headset for school, yeah? And I already found that I liked listening to the Halo 3 ODST soundtrack whilst doing math. So I cut out the middle man, didn't use my personal computer, and used the headset instead of batting my earbuds out of the way all the time. The drums sound amazing, it's incredible. I don't even have the volume at halfway, and it's doing the thing where it feels like it's vibrating my eardrums.
  21. I like 'Stillspace' too, it fits the theme of the previous two books.

    Vin

    That looks amazing!
  23. My eyes are itching really bad because it's allergy season, and all I can think about is the etymology of words for vehicles.  Obviously carriage - horseless carriage - car, but what about trailer?  Van?  Truck?  Where'd those come from?

      Doomstick

car (and carriage, etc) probably came from carrus (meaning cart)

I knew cart fit in there somewhere, but I wasn't sure how.
