"Hi," Calano says, grinning.

Hours go by... The night goes on... And then, just before dawn. Calano awakes. His eyes snap open, and he sits up. He yawns, but he does feel quite refreshed. Perhaps it is the energy from regaining control of the Clinic. He looks around, then teleports to where Emma is. He lays down on his stomach in front of her face, then gently kisses her nose. "Emma..." He says in a sing song voice.

Calano nods, and watches her leave. He's too tired to do anything other than let his head fall onto his desk. He's been awake for over 60 hours. The second his head hits the desk, he falls asleep. Calano dreams peacefully, for the first time in a long time.

Calano nodded, and waved his hand. The Treaty vanished. "Once you have it set up and ready to go, send a report to my desk for approval."

Calano blinked, watching his Signature grow back into the treaty. Suddenly, deep inside him, he felt a small reservoir of energy fill. He hadn't even noticed it's absence. The clinic was his again. "Well," He said, "That was... unexpected."

Calano leans over Emma's shoulder, looking at the treaty.

"In other words, they combined the two best methods into the new ultimate method for safe, lawful transfer of power after a drastic unlawful change in power. Do you finally understand?"

"All the Flagons provide extra security to the treaty. I still don't know why I have to explain all of this, because if you could just sign the form, we'd be much better off, but in short, the Flagons help provide protection from unnecesary tampering. I say unnecesary because that's in the strictest sense of the term. They didn't Flag you because you were doing what you thought was necessary, not just doing it for the sake of doing it."

"Thaidakar, let's definitely have that conversation. Let me actually regain control over the treaty first."

Calano nodded to the figure. "Thaidakar."

Calano slumped forward, head smacking against the desk. He sat up again. "Lark, I already explained to you. This form will make it so that your signature is removed, and you don't. die. It overrides that part of the Treaty. That's basically why this form even exists, as a safe alternative. Do you get it now? You're not going to die, I don't know how else- Emma, please help me out here." He turned to Emma (@The Wandering Wizard)

Calano opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, closed it again, then leaned forward. "Why do you ask?"

"Right, and the form accounts for the consequences, meaning you'll be fine."

"You're misunderstanding. This form," Calano said, and he tapped the form, "This one right here, it switches control over safely and lawfully. What this is," He said, gesturing at the device and the blood signature, "is unsafe and unlawful. Once the form is filled out and signed accordingly, it will be fine." Calano looked at Lark. "I give you my word."

Calano facepalmed. "Lark, you are making this so much more difficult than it needs to be. You stole this clinic from underneath my dead body. Literally. All I want is to get it back, and we have a surefire method to do so, and you're stalling. Please, just cooperate here."

Hmm. This makes my brain go places. FTL and "Space Age" tech for the Cosmere as a whole is honestly mind breaking by itself, but to think specifically in Rosharan ways is even more mind breaking. FTL Fourth Bridge... exploiting quantum spren properties... I can't wrap my head around it, I'm no theoretical physicist, I'm just some random teen who likes weather, but I think it could work. We've seen some flying spren (Windspren, Honorspren) achieve incredible speeds, but that's during observation. Theoretically, they could be capable of near light-speed travel. Theoretically. Now, if we have a conjoined fabrial using unobserved Windspren in the split gemstones, then somehow observe them as they go near light-speed or FTL speed, then we have something. But i'm spitballing here. I think it is possible, and it is a really cool theory.

"Lark, we know more than you, that's what I'm saying. Once that blood is burned off, your sanity is burned off too. You've surely noticed the changes in your mental state, yes? This form is a bypass, a lawful reset of control, with positives for both parties. I'm trying to help both of us."

Calano held up a hand. "I'm well aware of the treaty's tamper protections, Lark."

"I held control over the treaty for years. Centuries. I've lost some knowledge, after the incident where I died, some memories became fuzzy. They're slowly coming back. If there's something you feel I should now, I suggest you tell me now. I know taking control is a huge huge undertaking, and exacts a heavy toll if done improperly. And you, with blood, did it improperly. This will remedy that. I swear." Calano held Lark's eyes, nodding once.

"The form is a secondary method to change control, when regular methods fail. That's all it is. I guess you could call it an executive reset, but it's more specific than that. Now, we can figure stuff out after you fill it out. I know, it seems like I'm pressuring you into doing it, I'm sorry. But, I want to get this done as soon as possible, so I can resume normal operations throughout the clinic. I know how it used to be, and after I return it to that state, we can start improvements."

"Well, you did it in blood. Blood is... difficult to bypass with normal methods. Blood has always had magical properties, for anything. So, this form." He gestured to it again.

Calano nodded, opening a drawer in his desk. It was empty, but he reached in and pulled out a form. "That's why this form exists. There's a clause in Treatise 9 that states the original possesor of the Treaty has the irrevocable ability to procure this form should the need arise. The form can be filled out and signed in the event that the current possesor of the treaty wishes to cede control. It can only be summoned by the original possesor, or most senior possesor if the original possesor has passed away, as a security condition. So, all you have to do is put your name, my name, and sign it in your own hand. This gives me control over the treaty, and then we can make edits to the Treaty. Or, I can make edits, but we'll do it in counsel." He put the form on the desk. "How's that sound?"
