  1. The WoB quoted above says that Atium is needed to steal all powers. It's much more consistent with what burning aluminum does (remove all metals) to have aluminum hemalurgy remove all powers. The Coppermind agrees with me. It isn't clear how that would work. Does charging the spike remove all powers, but then you could remove the powers from someone else by spiking them?
  2. Adolin is definitely being set up for some big role. I suspect (it's just suspicion based on vibes) that she'll remain human(-ish) to the end of the Cosmere, and witness the final battle, whatever it is.
  3. Sorry, but it's really obvious that "Nohadon", the one who spoke to Dalinar in visions and helped him through emotional crises, is Frost the dragon. By "obvious" I mean that it's my pet theory.
  4. My understanding was that the Saints fled from mob persecution, not because of an official government policy of expulsion (as the Spanish Inquisition [working with the monarchy] did to my cousins, the Jews of Spain).
  5. Or you could just give a Radiant an unkeyed medallion?
  6. Then ... why would you say she has lived "her entire life"? When she leaps over to save the woman with food in her throat (bad memory for names here) she is still 20 or whatever.
  7. @Schizoposting, I belong to the school that says December's first life was a really long vision, Fortune or something related.
  8. I don't think Intent is made of Investiture. I see it as a pattern impressed into Investiture, the way memory is a pattern in your brain cells. It could be erased like writing, if I'm right.
  9. I'm aware that this is very silly, but I like the idea of the dread Yelling Nar, who grants the unique Surge of Focused Sound.
  10. Aluminum melts at 933 Kelvin, but that's not important to your argument.
  11. Both Taldain and Canticle already have light-form Investiture, from Autonomy and an unknown source, respectively.
  12. Let's be honest, here. Absent plot armor, 20 crossbowmen with all-wood-and-bone weapons, including wood-with-bone-tip quarrels, would be devastating to a single Mistborn (without atium). Hell, the sling of David could be devastating.
  13. I will never know, but I speculate that the alpha/beta readers and/or editor(s) must have expressed doubts about "December" to the point where Brandon, in love with the idea, put in Hoid's explanation rather than just all her "Winter" or "Frostmoon" or something. If I'm right ... I disagree with him.
  14. Here's a sideways answer: we've seen it happen. Dalinar bonded the Stormfather. We know the Stormfather was made by stealing some aspect of The Wind, an Adonalsium Splinter that was on Roshar before the Shattering. I would argue that the Stormfather is one of the Unmade. Unmade by Honor, not Odium. [puts on Plate to defend himself from angry nerd mob]
  15. Permanent Everstorm. The Shroud. The Ashfall. Alehela's burning sky. Discuss.
  16. Ruin and Preservation made the humans of Scadrial. They aren't from Ashyn.
  17. But if it involves the Spiritual Realm, r=0 for all r.
  18. He's explicitly said to be blinded during that time period, by Autonomy, one of three or so Shards who have experience in Shard-to-Shard combat. (She helped Odium Splinter Devotion and Dominion, apparently.)
  19. I am vaguely remembering WoBs, and I do not have time tonight to trawl the Arcanum, so ... I yield the field.
  20. To me, the interesting question is, what happens when they die? Do they go to Braize, or just Beyond? If Braize, do they Return, or does Retribution have his servants torment them as the Heralds were tormented?
  21. "Surges" were basically anything, before Ishar talked Tanavast into limiting them. Ashyn was destroyed by nuclear reactions caused by Investiture--microkinesis.
  22. Ashyn was a apparently destroyed by microkinesis. The unrestrained Surges are enormously more than what Radiants are permitted to do.
  23. The original question has to mean pre-Retribution, because Cultivation leaves Roshar when Retribution is created. The Nightwatcher still presumably exists, though.
  24. Spoiler for Dragonsteel Prime. We see dawnshards in W&T and Sunlit Man. No metals involved.
