  1. That’s a fair point. I do believe he intends to release it, but I understand his reasons for not releasing it. He doesn’t feel that it’s done. That’s okay. I’d rather read a completed book in 5 years than a so-so one now. And personally, I don’t feel the same longing to read the last one that others do. Oh, sure, I’d love to read it, and I’d buy it as soon as I could. However, personally I find both the books amazing enough as they are to be worth reading, as long as you can handle partial cliffhangers. There is an argument to be made that it is a testament to his success as an author that people still love his work as much as they do even though he has not released the last book. He’s a person too, and it’s unfair to him to say that he needs to release it now. I agree with you that his attitude is a problem. I don’t see that as any reason to not read the books. I definitely see the argument that if he hasn’t released the 3rd book, why read the first two. I don’t agree with that personally, but others may have other feelings. Mods, if you think this is off topic, feel free to remove.
  2. I’ll do that! I just finished Words of Radiance (the book after Way of Kings) and am on Oathbringer, but I’d love to talk and also reread Mistborn Final Empire.
  3. It is unfathomable to me that no one recommended Patrick Rothfuss’ Name of The Wind. Perhaps objectionable content, particularly in the second book, but truly a classic of epic fantasy. Really great magic system combined with beautiful prose makes it a thing to behold.
  4. It was pretty solid. I think the fan mail questions lend themselves more to Words of Brandon than Youtube or Twitter comments do, which tend to be more writing-focused. I’m going to guess because it’s fan mail, the questions tend to be more related to what one might be a fan of, like the Cosmere or his other books. Also, it was quite long.
  5. Do trust rogue waffles who are around the forum. Even though they do evil things, to find out that they are rogue waffles you have to trust them a bit. And then stop trusting them. *Outmaneuvers Sadeas unlike Kaladin* *wins*
  6. Anyone you see who is being naughty or annoying, tell them that they are an “Airsick lowlander.” It works particularly well if you say “Ha!” right before, just like our good friend Rock.
  7. If Hoid looks like he’s constantly in his 20s, why can’t Lift? Also, that’s why it’s a wild theory.
  8. *I unclap (?) my hands and Lift is being Slick in front of me in the lightning storm*
  9. What do you think about the Lift and Wayne Worldhopping thieving gang? I think it would be hilarious to see them together.
  10. Thank you! Thank you too!
  11. I’m not so sure I love the idea of Vin and Elend coming back. I mean, at the end of Secret History Brandon talks about the dangerous trope of character resurrection. I agree with him that Kelsier had more of a story, but Vin and Elend? Honestly, it seemed like their story arcs were done. Alright, here are a few theories, in order of stupidness, lowest to highest: Spook is still living. Kelsier talks to him at the end of Secret History about working together to “find another string,” or something like that. Wouldn’t it also make sense that Spook gets something out of the deal? At some point, Marsh becomes a Worldhopper. I’ll go so far as to say that he’ll be seen in places other than Mistborn eras 3 and 4 in the future... I’m excited for that one. Alright, here’s the crazy one: Lift and Wayne meet somehow, (maybe with Kelsier) and they start a Worldhopping gang. This is the one I’m most excited about. Lift and Wayne, guys. Come on! EDIT: also, Yolen has/had a base-16 number system (shattering of adonalsium, etc. We’ve heard so much about the importance of the number 16 in Mistborn it seems a waste not to have at least one planet with a base-16 number system, giving more credence to the number.)
  12. Gosh, that’s interesting. Probably a Full Feruchemist as storing Investiture and Connection, etc. would be more interesting from a cosmerological perspective. How about you? Alright! I’ll finish Warbreaker first. The bubbles are a lie because they just are (no particular reason yet, though if you come up with a good one I’ll use it).
  13. Hello everybody! Big fan of Brandon here. I’ve read all of his Mistborn stuff (including short stories and novellas), a little bit of Elantris, the first 50 pages of Warbreaker, and I’m halfway through Words of Radiance, already having read The Way of Kings. I’m really interested in the Cosmere as a whole and the Worldhoppers. Oh, and in case you hadn’t realized, the bubbles are a lie.
