    That’s how I saw most people siding. I was just curious because of all the little hints in OB that suggest Nahel spren don’t like fabrials. For example, the same scene Lunamor mentioned, Dalinar says “capturing spren is no different then using chulls” or something along those lines, and the Stormfather rumbled in the back round.

    Just that. Is it morally correct to trap spren to further human goals? With the increasing importance of spren on Roshar, I am curious to see how we all feel about this. Personally I don’t have an opinion yet, I see both sides of the argument. But I do think that eventually Radiant spren are going want their lesser cousins set free, so I think it’s a problem that will surface in-world eventually (although we might not see it happen in the books). it was touched on in this thread:

    Good job putting two and two together! Although the place this falls apart is the two spren are identical save for color, and as far as we’ve seen there are no white ink spren. (Although there might be a little foreshadowing/ hint to it being possible because Ivory is literately called Ivory) We might want to start a new thread to continue this discussion though, so we don’t derail this topic further.

    No, just nearsighted. But I’ll use them mostly for school, and my doctor didn’t want me to strain my eyes when I look at my paper (because she knew I wouldn’t take them off every time I looked down) and so she gave me a bifocal prescription (but the bifocal part is just clear glass).

    It’s totally possible that he could be lying, but for the sake of story telling, a lie like that wouldn’t achieve anything and most likely just confuse readers. So I don’t think that’s something Brandon Sanderson would do. I don’t see why a Nahel spren can’t be trapped, because when they first cross over they are almost as mindless as lesser spren. To catch one all you would have to do is imitate something they like (of course this is difficult with things like “honor” but I doubt it’s impossible).

    True, but considering the Horneaters who worship them, Also with the increasing importance of bonded spren, and the feeling they must have toward fabrials (like the way parshendi felt about enslaved parshman) I just think the problem is going to come up eventually.

    I like the theory! I’ve personally always thought each Dawnshard was unique, like the surges.(although I honestly don’t know very much about them so that could have already been proven wrong) In OB there is some talk about how fabrials are created, (which of course is trapping lesser spren) along with some hesitation of whether it’s humane. I hope that, if not in Rhythm of war, then at least a future book there will be a “spren revolution” or something along those lines where people start to realize that fabrials are wrong, and fabrials will start to dissipate. (I’m also really hoping that Rock instigates it) Although it probably won’t happen simply because all of the possibilities fabrials provide.

    I’ve always hoped Jasnah would be bi or lesbian. I just want to see her roll in one day with her arm locked in her girlfriends and everyone stares after them and suddenly it makes sense why she doesn’t like boys, and whenever someone tries to ask her about it she doesn’t acknowledge it (because that’s how she would handle having a boyfriend too) but still owns up to it in her own Jasnah way.

    @Sorana that was very Gaotona of you. I liked it!!! It was more of a subtle roast but it was great! @Gears And @hoiditthroughthegrapevine I don’t think I complimented yours yet, but they were both awesome roasts, I had no idea the power I was up against. I had to listen to Hamilton when writing mine to get me in that... rap battle spirit.

    Mine is to be able to do 2 minutes of CPR (anyone who’s CPR certified knows how exhausting it is).

    Welcome! If there are spoilers for other books in the stormlight forum people will generally hide them in spoiler tags, but you might want to be careful still ( : Way of kings is my favorite in stormlight too! I generally prefer the fist book of series.

    I just got glasses this summer. Apparently I’m nearsighted, but I never knew because I thought it was normal to not see leaves on trees. Anyway the permit tester dude said I didn’t need them to drive but that I should have an eye appointment anyway because I was really close... and here I am now. A high schooler with bifocals (I feel like a grandma when I read (No offense to grandmas I love grandmas))

    I hope she stays Queen for consistency sake. Of course I’d love to see Queen Jasnah killing it. But I’m also scared that if Brandon goes back on too many things, like her being Queen or Shallan and Adolins marriage, anything that happens in the future will lose credibility. Similar to when too many characters come back from the dead.

    I agree that it looks like a high storm is passing. I’m just glad because (if it is indeed Adolin) this means they didn’t grow apart in the one year gap. Or maybe they did and during their mission they reconnect. Who knows? But they haven’t given up on each other yet. Also in one of the comments on the Reddit page you linked the artist mentioned the dress was an illusion and she was wearing something else underneath. Probably not important but worth some note.
