  1. Welcome to the Shard! Which Sanderson books have you read?
  2. It was a quiet morning. The island of Patji had just gone to sleep after a restless night. But the silence would not last for long. A storm was coming. A storm that would try and change Patji, and everything it stands for. Windrunner was Lynched! He was a Trapper! Frozen Mint was Killed! She was a Trapper with a Healer Aviar! The Traitorous Trappers have won the game! Congrats! Player List: Master Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Las9UEsLtMfz8Ut9OvsMhJ7pfHcxFX5lEfDHLuPYRtg/edit?usp=sharing Elim Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ynrMvMtmMhuO_nVdaBwYSqtI11FR-kV0lsCJL2xoJaY/edit?usp=sharing Dead Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oxcMROkrqfJIJgVdz1SbYYCPkPCkwDMIXttBUNZyPfE/edit I'll post my thoughts hopefully sooner, rather than later.
  3. Ya, I'm seeing where that's coming from. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that someone's perception of a belief is truth, so I guess the reality of truth is always fact but the perception of truth isn't?
  4. Squawk fluttered down from above and landed on his masters shoulder, then nipped at his ear for some food. @MusicalReader
  5. What I'm trying to say, is it's possible for me to... agh. I can't explain it well enough. I want to say it's where your belief is fact, but that doesn't really help my case.
  6. @Shard of Reading
  7. Yes, but for me it is also true that you failed intentionally. It's fact that I believe it, and my belief is fact for me, if that makes sense?
  8. Ok, here's the thing. Language is something different. Language is just a form of communication. I guess that means at least one other person needs to know what it means then... But! That is like if someone starts talking to you in chinese, and you saying they aren't using words because you don't understand the words. It's all about perspective and knowledge, at least in my opinion. So a word is a noise that is used to tell information to someone else.
  9. I think you mean capitalization? Capitalisation has to do with money stuff I believe...
  10. So. You fail a test. In reality, it happened because you didn't understand that topic, but In my head I believe you purposely failed for some reason. Therefore, to me, the truth is that you failed the test because you wanted to, but that is not fact. EDIT: Hmm. It split my post in two.
  11. Just because you don't know what a word means doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I think he's trying to say that what makes a word a word is when that word has meaning, to at least someone.
  12. Also, why does he have it. Does it have some magical importance, or is it something else?
  13. Ya. I think it could go either way really, he might have just said it out of earshot, or done it mentally, we just don't know. I'm guessing we'll see more of his awakening later on and hopefully it'll be more clear which one it is.
  14. Oh, for awkening. I was reading that for when they were just talking. Do we necessarily need to hear him say the commands though? Couldn't he just have whispered them? That's not technically mumbling because it's clearly stated.
  15. ...what?
  16. The thing is, the parshendi were said to not attract spren anywhere near as often as humans. So for things like lifespren it's fine, because it's the plant that attracts it. But can this also work with emotion spren? Such as using spren to enhance emotions?! Wait. Soothing and Rioting using spren and rhythms. I really want to see that now.
  17. And Szeth still has Nightblood, which is... interesting. I would have guessed that Dalinar would have wanted to get rid of it.
  18. Also, the farm. It appears that the spren are feeding off of the stormlight and the rhythms to allow the rockbuds to grow. Does this mean that the rythms can allow other spren to actually effect other things? Such as using a flamespren and rhythms to help make a fire?
