Cadenza looked up and recognised the person on the screens. It was the monster lady, the one who'd kidnapped Janice. And they had... taken over a city? They were recruiting people? She smiled. Perfect. Janice would never go near that city.

Cadenza finally collapsed in an alleyway far, far away from Janice and Aryanna and Maddy and... Trace. She buried her face in her knees and sobbed.

"Oooooh. Right."

Cadenza heard Janice shouting behind her. She slid faster. Janice was probably just wanting to yell at her more. As if she'd go back.

"Who are you 'taking care of', then?"

Cadenza started running, then sliding. She wasn't sure where she could go, but she knew she had to get out of there. She couldn't go back to her house, she couldn't go back to that hotel room, she had to find someplace new. Someplace no one would find her. She melted the ice behind her to messily cover her tracks.

"The detective, you mean?"

"Yeah, well... ME NEITHER!" Cadenza stormed off, blinking tears from her eyes. She didn't need them, either. Just like her family.

Cadenza's face fell and she nodded, standing up. "All right. Then you won't mind if I leave. I'll just... go hunt some Yevon." She turned around.

Cadenza pursed her lips smugly and created a chair from ice to sit on.

"Okay." Zola smiled. "Hey, how long is this gonna take?"

"Oh, good! You can help us!"

"You're still here? I thought I made it clear you weren't welcome."

"Yeah, sorry. It can be a little disorienting your first time." "Wow, thanks," Herate said sarcastically. She stepped forward to get a better glance at the symbols. -
Cadenza rolled her eyes. "Glad you're all feeling goody-goody. If you're done..." She left it hanging.

Andante snorted. That tickled. She nodded and touched the photo top the page she'd opened to - blank like all the rest. The ground disappeared from underneath them and they were falling... falling... falling for one terrifying moment but they weren't? and were. In the next instant, they were standing in a glorious glowing city. "What do the symbols mean?"

"An arm from the octopus showed us and then gave me that flower. The mechanical arm Gerald was wearing."

"Hmph. Trust you to go against my side. Tall people are so prejudiced." Cadenza spun and folded her arms.
