"Interesting," she said, fascinated. She reached out to touch one, curious about whether it would be hot or not.

"If he can protect us up here, he can certainly protect you down there." Isati looked around.

"I haven't wielded it, though. I just fought off Y."

"But why me?"

"Could we find someplace deep underground? Possibly past the Earth's crust?"

"How do you know?"

"The sword? A knight gave me the sword, it didn't choose me or something mystical like that."

Next we find a Cost-co!

Ava cut in. "I think that might be going a little far. Can't you just... ignore each other?"

"What? Listen, I don't think we're going to find someplace that isn't dangerous. So we have to find someplace that's less dangerous."

"Well yes, but there's also kinda moss."

"I can't be the Chosen One. I'm... me."

"I doubt that, although I could be wrong."

Is that a tip? I can't tell... Ava half smiled and looked back at her manager and customer.

"Yes... yes." Ava ran and got a bag of popcorn.

"Our opening?"

"Ah... I'm afraid... you have the wrong girl."

"So what's the plan for along the road? As in supplies, rests... those sorts of things."

"Uh - okay..." Ava took a step back.

"It's a book with the beginnings of the universe, that sort of thing."

Ava sighed, sure it was just another example of her terrible luck. "Um... excuse me?"

"Alright!" Ava led the manager to the guy's table. "Here she is, sir."
