clever wooden armor that acts as shard plate is pretty smart asuming everything goes correctly

so in this scenario lets assume you have up to the ninth heignting and are aware of night blood or shard blades and you want to make a viable piece of armor simaler to them in capability any form of armor is allowed and organic and inorganic materials will be allowed what creative way and command would you give this piece of armor for a desired out come for me it would be a wicker shield in the shape of a person given the command to protect me so lets hear your idea wiith me pictuirng shard plate or or a half shard to create an inteligent shield that can withstand such weapons like a shardblade other creative uses of awakening are also allowed

it would require an insane amount of breath probably more than even the god king has so theretically it might be able to do something but in practice nothing is gonna happen and since it is metal it would require at least the 9th heightning anyway which has problems with how many breaths hoid or vasher have with them in this scenario anyway since its already made of a god metal solid investiture with more stomlight flowing threw it and it being metal getting usable breath into it to awaken it isnt going to be generally possible probably eaiser to try and pull something like nightblood but with some form of armor with a command like protect me or something while picturing how shard plate works that might give a interesting result

i agree i doubt it would much of an affect do the spirtual nature of the bond the ony thing i can see having an issue is trying to summon your shard blade inside of the time buble that might have an effect but who knows

ive seen alot of theories about the excisor being some form of hemalurgy it does make sense this wob says it should be possible to make a medallion without hemalurgy but brandon said hed have to check his notes wheter that offers any credance to medallions not realling that heavily on feurchemy who knows but we do know honorblades and nicrosil medallions work under the same base principles when it comes to giving powers so if it rellies alot on a modifed form of hemalurgy then honor baldes will possibly have somthing similer going on as well Yata If you have 32 Misting and Ferring, every kind possible, without using Hemalurgy, you can craft a medallion? your probably going to be tied to the world from which the investiture came from so in this case scadrial we do know there is away around this the prime example being vasher but its the same reason a spren has trouble moving of world they same woud apply to seons and skaze as well

yeah thats defintaly possible that even if he siphoned off some of the mist the rest would scatter before he coud draw enough in for anything significate towards picking up the shard even happens so the mists might not be the best parralel becuase the dor doent seem to react in simler manner also going on to what eating the dor could do to night blood theres a WOB that might imlpy some effect on nightblood mentality based on the shardic intent of the power he devours its a rafo but its fun to speculate it also rleated to when his command activates so who knows if that would actually effect his mind when in his sheath ccstat A question I've been thinking about recently: In Warbreaker we see Nightblood's consciousness shift dramatically when he is actively consuming investiture. lets assume nightblood can devour the whole of the dor i doubt he coud pick up devotion and dominion if it works on simler mechanics to absorbing the mists he'd probably get all that power losing a bit in the process since he vents off some in the form of his black smoke hed just have a huge amount of power but without the capacity of those shardic intents if we use this wob as an example but the mists and the dor could behave completly diffeerntly when absorbed so who knows it does imply however nigtbloods feeding behaves differntly from simply drawing in the power so we might need to figure out that diffenrce to get a better idea Questioner If you held out Nightblood in the mists on Scadrial what would happen? you would get is feruchemic ability of identity and non of its allomantic effect and we barely know anything on how eactly identity works and almost certanly no clue what near infinite amounts of identity would do to someone we could speculate but as far as i know we dont have much to go on

It happens all the time, absolutely happens all the time. There's one that I did some readings from, that I got a scene written, where I wanted to do this cool book where I had this setting. The pitch on it was, what if viruses and bacteria evolved to give people magical talents when you caught the disease. This idea that a bacteria doesn't actually want to kill you, or a virus doesn't want to kill you. It wants you to live and spread it. You getting sick is a side effect. What if the side effect is, you got the common cold, all the sniffles and everything, but you could fly as long as you had the common cold? What would that do to society? What happens when someone invents penicillin and can wipe out half of these magical talents? What happens if people start catching a disease that makes everything they touch start on fire. So it was a story about basically fantasy Jack Bauer, who's a member of the fantasy CDC, who tries to stop diseases and things like this. But in order to do his job, he has to keep his immune system terrible, like this weakling who can barely get up the steps, so that he can quickly catch diseases to get the powers he needs to deal with outbreaks of these things. thats fine ill see if i can find it myself later although its is also entirely possible they corrupt the spren and it might stay as a deadeye if that would have any effect on the apearance of a dead eye no clue and if it did it might warp the shardblades appearance in a strange way or it might do nothing visually who knows

i was thinking about this is wondering if it did happen what it would be like or if it would have any effect at all what you guys think i also wonder if the process of corruption in this case would be closer to a lesser spren or a living radiant spren

the mistguard mist spren i shall move with the winds of fate (subject to change) divsion and adhesion are somewhat stoic and uncaring they seem to only care abut keeping the forces of the world in balance

just to clarify a little the opal bone spikes only come out of the back or areas connected to the spine also you forgot to mention there limited life span how they slowly turn to opal over time and become frozen like stone man syndrome also the magic system were regis come from is called parascribe

the light weaving used to fuel awakening would be interesting if it worked there is one WoB saying if you shined a colored light on a wall and used it as fuel for awakening it would leech the light bulb not sure how that would apply to a light weaving though if it does at all although this heavily depends on what kind of lightbulb your using your most likely just going to drain color from the source of the light your controlling if it did work NotarySojac If you shine a red light on a white wall, could you use the color from that to Awaken?
