    Ely gazed at the gold bar. It reminded him of the yellowy coin things back home, that they used for currency. But probably these people would not want those, because they were smaller than that ingot thing.

    "Oh..." Ghostfire said. "I am sorry. I have difficulty with these things, I am a rock."

    Ghostfire returned the thermal detonator into his arm. "Do not be afraid—I was just being spooky, I would not cause unnecessary harm to sentient life. Did I scare you? If not, why?"

    The only sound that could be heard was a soft, almost imperceptible whirring sound coming from the back of Ghostfire's head as he tried to discern whether the pause in between the words meant "No, please do!" or "No, please no!"

    Ghostfire ejected a thermal detonator, and toyed with it. He didn't seem so convinced. "So, you're saying I shouldn't blow this place up."
