"I'm afraid that neither of you are the Guardians, young kippies," Phaedrus said, keeping her eye on the Warden.

A dragon, head almost as big as all of Phaedrus, swooped up before the nesting place, wings sending massive gusts that put the snow into a blizzard. "Rise, young mother. You have seen Ironclads?" "They were here. They threatened my kippies." "Were they a rogue group, perhaps?" "They said they would return in greater numbers." The Warden grumbled. "Then we must summon the Guardians."

Phaedrus motioned for all the kippies to sit down; the Wardens weren't likely to chastise children, but showing respect was a skill that they could learn early. She sat down herself, bowing her head down and curling her tail up behind her. A mighty swoop could be heard in the distance. Great thumps of massive wings beating against the wind.

"Be quiet, child." Phaedrus said. "You must show them upmost respect."
