Phaedrus frowned, then continued the story. "What happened is that Polore was killed in the war."

Phaedrus chuckled. "No... that's not how it goes."

"What happened next is that Jean had to learn how to make friends with the other kippies while her dragon was away."

"One day, though, Polore had to go on a journey that all dragons must take: to join the other dragons up north and fight the ironclads."

"Well alrighty then."

Phaedrus cocked her head. "Why is that?"

"What are you scared of, then?"

"Well... had that kid never taken my advice and set me free, Atlantis never would've sunk beneath the ocean!"

"How are you, young one?"

"Well, once upon a time, there was this kid, right? And he's like what would you wish for? And I was like well, I'd wish to be a free genie. And so he wished me free, and now I can cause universal chaos on a whim!"
