"Which world's first worldhopper?" Ayia smiled back, though. "Welcome, by the way."

"Whoa, now. Hold up." Ellis held up a hand. "Melody, we can't just go back in time."

"Who in the worlds are you?" Ayia asked.

"Cavalier," Phaedrus said. "Have you ever journeyed to Tast?"

The figure surged fowards, pushing Janice away from her friends. They unsheathed a knife, holding it over her. "Get away!" She tried to scream, but no sound came out.

They weren't doing anything in particular. Just... standing around. She was holding hands with Cadenza and Aryanna, looking ahead into an infinite darkness. From the darkness came a figure. Janice couldn't tell who it was, but somewhere in her mind, a surge of dread coursed through her.

"Shhh." Phaedrus beckoned in the kippies and baby dragons. "Let me hold you all one last time."
