Trace looked at Janice as if for clarification. "Sh--show yourself." Janice said. "Please."

Janice shied away from Trace, falling over on her back. Her breathing panicked. "I'm not going to hurt you!" Trace protested. "I promise!"

"She... says..." "Janice," Trace said, walking towards her. "Janice, please... I need your help."

Janice looked at Shade, confused. "You mean you can't see her?" "None of you should be able to see me," Trace protested. "Let alone you..."

"What are you doing here?" Janice whimpered. "I... I need your help." Janice hesitated. "Why?"

Trace locked eyes with Janice. "You shouldn't be able to see me." She said.

"She's there. Right there..."

Tomrin stole that moment to run out and rush towards the soldiers.

"NO, don't--" Tomrin shook his head. "Okay. Just... get shot. Okay."

Janice was too busy watching someone behind Maddy and Cadenza.

Janice paled. "What?"

"Cadenza," Janice chastised. "It's okay. They're fine. How'd you know where to find me?"

Janice pointed over at Shade. "I got captured by them. It's okay, though. I told them it was probably the Talon who wanted me, and they didn't think that was cool, so they let me go!" She cupped her hands over her mouth. "Hey, Shade! Get back over here! You should meet my friends!"

"Yeah, I know, just..." Tomrin thought his options over. "Okay, so... I think we're dead."

"I got kidnapped." She shrugged in a 'life's just like that sometimes' sort of way.

"Yep!" Janice waved. "It's okay, guys! Just a little slip-up."

"How's about you give me a pistol instead? Have a quick one-on-one, just you and me?"
