I didn’t like Lord of the Rings. Idk why, it was a bit slow. Each read it gets slightly better, but not amazing.

I remember borrowing the The Lord of the Rings over and over from my local library, they were some of the first fantasy books I ever read (Heavy as anything to carry home too.) Kid me occasionally got confused by the very old-fashioned prose, but loved them anyway. Thank you, Professor Tolkien, for creating such magnificent books. Happy birthday!

  2. "Nah. The fact that everyone can hear it just makes stuff more complicated." Fadran looked around. "Well... I don't suppose anyone recognized the creepy wind voice?"
  3. "I hope you don't mind if we tie you up while we're away?" Elya asked Ne'ik.
  4. "Darn." It was usually a lot easier when he was the only one who heard the ethereal, bodiless voices.
  5. Ayia clambered into the back. "Sheesh. It is boiling in here."
  6. "Given a few more days, your leg should be healed enough to walk on," Elya said, glancing at him. "To an extent, at least. We'll be able to put you to some use."
  7. "I say we start there."
  8. "Are there any Pacis distribution headquarters nearby?"
  9. Elya sat down, recollecting herself. It took longer than usual to get herself back under control. That had been... unexpected. "Where do you think we should strike first?" She asked.
  10. Elya nodded, hanging her head slightly. She stepped out without another word.
  11. Okay, well... It's 1:30 here and I've finally woken up.

Woken up enough to tell you about the absolute weirdest thing that's happened to me all year!

    (Hehe)

So... last night. I'm getting ready for bed, piling on blankets, trying to draw Elya from Zvso (it turned out terribly and will never see the light of day), and my dad comes in to let me know that it's gonna be really cold that night. He makes sure I have plenty of blankets and everything before going.

I fell asleep at a reasonable hour (probably), and... had a dream about space? I don't know if this was before or after the weird thing. I think it was after (I'll get to it later).

At about 1:00 in the morning I wake up. I could've sworn I had heard some guy asking me for my bed. Probably just some weird dream carryover, right?

    Yep! Exactly!

But my brain was having none of that.

Somehow--in, like, under a couple seconds--came to the conclusion that this strange noise had a whole backstory and everything. Apparently (according to my sleep-deprived brain), my dad had randomly welcomed in some homeless guy to our house and told him (and the kids) that he was allowed to take any of our beds at any point tonight. So, of course, this alleged homeless guy had come to claim mine, and I got out for him like a nice person.

So I took a single blanket and lay down on the floor for the night, freezing and exhausted from being woken up at such an hour.

It wasn't until about five minutes later that I realized that there probably wasn't actually a homeless guy in my bed.

There ya go. Weirdest thing to ever happen to me. Ask me later if you wanna hear the dream (I went to space! On accident!)

My church also changed to 9, which is really hard because I have 4 younger siblings who are incapable of getting ready in less than 2 hours. Even the 12 year old! It was pretty cold last night for me, but I'm used to it. It's been weirdly warm all winter and about a week ago we finally got snow! Lots and lots of snow.

  12. Elya nodded, turned around, then stopped. "And... I... haven't had a... friend. For a... long time."
  13. She shook her head. "If you trust me, I'll trust you. It's... a mutual understanding. Out of necessity."
  14. Ayia grinned mischeviously. "I knew that too."
  15. I actually kinda shifted from being a pantser to a planner--Stephen King would not be proud
