  1. Nameless glared at him. "Not your lab. I need my own lab."
  2. I can't think of anyone completely trustworthy of the top of my head.
  3. Nameless disappeared, muttering something about needing a lab.
  4. Yes, that would work well I think. Probably want a seeker to ensure there aren't any lightweavers or the like trying to trick us.
  5. Nameless took the teardrop gratefully, quickly making it disappear into the background. "I just wanted to look at it. What I did shouldn't have any effects on the blade."
  6. Here you go. *hands papers* I already ran them by our lawyers, and they said everything checks out. They'll be hiring one, apparently. The contract stipulates that we can have as many representatives observe the binding process as we want, so we can confirm the authenticity of the Bondsmith then. Oh shoot, you're still here? *Looks around office frantically* Thaidakar? Where'd we put the memory wiper thingy again?
  7. Nameless inspected the sword for a moment. Then he ran his hand over the blade, coating it in a thin film of blue light. This only lasted for a moment, then faded. Nameless nodded, then stuck the sword into the ground in front of him. "I'm finished. Can I have that life back now?"
  8. They already made up the papers, and I have them with me. As soon as you sign them, they want me to bring the papers to them and they'll make all the necessary arrangements within the day.
  9. They're willing to keep all of the details of our operations completely secret. They're even prepared to have a Bondsmith make their oaths of secrecy completely binding.
  10. Nameless ignored the voice. He already knew that. Nameless concentrated briefly, summoning a bright teardrop of light to his right hand. With utmost care, he handed it to Nowhere, then extended his other hand to receive the sword.
  11. Uh, so, @Thaidakar the Ghostblood, I have good news and bad news. The good news is I got the insurance company to agree to lower the rates to the same as they were initially. The bad news is that they want me to inform them of all Ghostblood activities so that they can evaluate the risks inherent in them.
  12. Nameless considered in turn. "Fine. But only if you swear not to harm it. If any harm comes to it I'll kill you and melt your sword into worthless slag."
  13. Nameless sighed. "Of course I do. But if you think that's not good enough, I give you my oath as a narrator. I will do no harm with the weapon, nor will I endeavor to steal it.
  14. Nameless nodded. "Yes. I swear by the light and on my hope of salvation, I will not destroy the sword, give it to someone else, hurt anyone with it, or anything like that. I'm only going to hold it for a few seconds, then I'll give it back to you. I won't do any connection shenanigans to steal it."
  15. Nameless popped in again. "Hey, could I hold that sword? Just for a second, and I promise I'm not going to hit anybody with it. Please?"
  16. Yeah, maybe we could. And I should probably go talk to those insurance guys before our vaults are completely empty.
  17. Someone else patted Mythos on the shoulder and offered him a pizza covered in expertly prepared Earwaxium shavings.
  18. Actually, while we're at it, the budget as a whole is kinda terrible right now. We should put someone else in charge of managing it. That way you can focus on the important stuff like ordering field agents and making plans to dominate the underworld.
  19. The voice faded slowly as if being pushed away. "You may have killed me Mythos, but you will never be free of me. Someday I will return, and on that day you will die."
  20. You want our allies to... help us pay our insurance bills? How about I talk to the insurance companies instead. If you promise not to send any new recruits to Threnody without the approval of other experienced ghostbloods, I think I can convince them to lower their rates to a semi-reasonable level.
  21. The voice laughed. "Ah, how little they know about you. How little you know about yourself."
  22. THEY JUST TRIPLED IN THE LAST FIVE MINUTES!
  23. THAIDAKAR STOP IT! THINK OF THE INSURANCE RATES!!!
  24. The voice whispered again. "So you've given me a new name, have you? Does it make you feel better to think I'm something other than the consequence of your actions that day?"
  25. A voice whispered in Mythos' mind. A voice filled with hatred. "You don't even remember what you've done. Spook doesn't know what he's talking about."
