  1. While the bond was almost completely broken, Syl wasn't dead, as she could still talk. The Stormfather was preventing her from going to Kaladin, only relenting when he swore the oaths. The Stormfather told Kaladin that Syl was completely dead, and there was no way to save her. We see this to be an obvious untruth when Syl speaks to Kaladin and the Stormfather at the end of WoR, completely conscious and sentient. Shallan's straight up resworn oaths. How is Sig's spren so functional if he just broke his oaths? Pretty much every spren we've met, and basically every side character for that fills the same role as Aux, has the annoying habit of forcing their Radiant/friends to be honest with themselves. If he broke his oaths without justification, why would he say that they 'ended'? That's the whole point of this thread, after all. To try and theorize about why Sigzil says it this way.
  2. That villain was the only student Nin had ever taught, his greatest failure.
  3. Brandon thinks that Rand would eventually come back, but wasn't sure:
  4. After finding another hand, Nin could finally complete his goal. He sealed the R.C.M.B away in a location that could only be reached by the truly worthy, and retired away to the far reaches of the wilderness.
  5. But in the end, no trial could match those Nin had already faced, and he emerged triumphant with the R.C.M.B.
  6. The sky spirits helped him out, directing Nin to the ancient temple of winds.
  7. Nameless groaned, buried under a pile of bones. "I think I landed on someone's ribs."
  8. This turned out to be a trap, and Nin barely escaped the giant tree blades with all his limbs intact.
  9. Nameless shrugged and tried to lash himself downwards, only to realize he was out of Stormlight.
  10. This turned out to be a bad idea, so Nin leapt from the chasm into a protected hollow, clothes dripping wet.
  11. But Nin was prepared for this as a master of the old ways, weathering the chaos with ease.
  12. Kaladin is not the literal son of Tanavast, as Lirin and Hesina are his biological parents:
  13. He wanted the broadsword in order to keep it out of the hands of the unworthy.
  14. His army of modified Dark Troopers took care of the impudent rebels.
  15. Nameless shrugged, casually crushing the throat of the ninja that was attempting to sneak attack him from behind.
  16. This was in a flashback to his troubled past, before he became the awesome ninja master he was today.
  17. This only revealed the full extent of his secret plan. The Death Star beams deflected harmlessly off of Nameless' energy shield, which was tethered to Thaidakar's lifeforce.
  18. Nameless laughed maniacally, revealing his second Death Star cannon that was in fact, fully operational.
  19. Nameless cursed under his breath and pulled out his handheld Death Star cannon instead.
  20. Nameless took this opportunity to pull out his ultimate weapon.
  21. Nameless appeared, covered in the blood of Narrators. "Really? Cause I thought that plot was how TLT started." "It was pretty random, even from the beginning, but making a story was always the intention."
  22. The Stormfather is obviously lying. Syl is very much still alive, kept away from Kaladin by the Stormfather, nearly dead because of his nearly broken oaths. Becoming a deadeyes is not something that can be easily reversed. Her spren is still a deadeyes, and hasn't even recovered as much as Maya. But why phrase it that way? It's avoiding responsibility in a way that neither Hoid nor Aux would allow. If he had broken his oaths, I would expect one or the other to immediately reply with something along the lines of 'you mean you broke your oaths. They didn't just end.' No, it's called euphemism. And it doesn't make sense in the case that he broke his oaths.
  23. "Well, I kinda like the quiet. No one's tried to kill me for a good few pages now. Plus it helps draw in new Narrators, which Nameless likes. Plot is intimidating when you're just exploring your powers for the first time."
  24. Nameless quickly negotiated his release with Order, his greatest enemy, and attacked the other Narrators from behind.
