    Until it wasn’t. Nameless drew the sword and prepared to thrust it at mysterious X.

    Nameless frowned. “You know, I’m inclined to agree. Weird, isn’t it? That’s never happened before.”

    “Say, I bet if you poked it with that sword, you’d get one heck of a reaction!”

    "Yes. one of 'those'. Hm." Nameless ducked, almost losing his head to a ninja's sword. "Sure are a lot of ninjas around. "That's nice. Say, you have any ideas for cool powers? I never have gotten around to giving Moni any." "Eh. Close enough."

    "Wait, you have Narration powers? I thought you were just an avatar." "I would, but I can't do it myself. Some thingies stole my Narration powers." "Interesting. Well, that means it's probably related to this thingy." Nameless pulled out the sphere thingymagig that Thaidakar had given him. "He said it was important to him or something."
