  1. The corpse was that of Valiant, once-Proto-Narrator now just a body lying abandoned on the ground.
  2. "Bookwyrm, I am thankful to you for making such a naïve avatar. He did quite a good job, and I do hope he manages to get over the crushing guilt that his actions will cause. You'll probably need to help him with that." Subversion smiled, turning to face those remaining from the vengeance party. "That goes to all of you, as well. I truly look forward to future confrontations, but for the moment I must depart. Before I do, know this. It is solely thanks to your blind determination to exact vengeance upon me for the murder of Valiant that I, Subversion have become the heir to Nameless, the great Narrator brought low by his own avatar. It is thanks to your actions that I have been raised to this station, and your actions that have caused the true death of the one you were sworn to avenge. Until next time, farewell." With that, Subversion vanished, breaking through all attempts to prevent her departure. She left behind two things: The failed vengeance party, and a lonesome corpse.
  3. And until he is dead, should you not live as well?
  4. Perhaps the least you can do is stay alive long enough to save other worlds from the same fate.
  5. So you'd give up your life? Wouldn't it be better for me to just give up my powers?
  6. Subversion easily dodged, and suddenly Rym could not move, the air around him becoming harder than steel. "I thank you for finishing that fool off, Rym. It would've taken far longer without your sword. He might have managed to break out of my illusion."
  7. And what would we do when Malum attacks? Your magic seems to be the only thing that frightens him.
  8. And what would you give?
  9. I wouldn't say 'give it to them'. I already told you they can feed off human emotions, but I didn't tell you that they can feed on a channeler's ability to use the One Power as well. And if that's what it'll take to save TAAron, I'm willing to give it.
  10. I’m not sure. I figured it- well, it might be enough if I gave them my ability to channel.
  11. "Huh. Neither am I."
  12. "Hm? Oh, I have no clue. Can your duel disk thing not navigate it?"
  13. The laughter stops abruptly, and voice speaks from the cloud of smoke and debris in the aftermath of the explosion. A voice that causes everyone present to freeze in horror. "I guess you don't understand." Subversion steps from the smoke, completely unharmed and glowing with pure Narrative power. Not mere borrowed power as before, but her own. "I must thank you, however. Without all of your so easily subverted expectations, I would never have been able to prove myself worthy."
  14. Unintelligible continued laughing, blood leaking from his mouth, features warping. "So you finally understand."
  15. Unintelligible doubled over with uncontrollable laughter. "I can't believe how easy that was! I figured-hah!-I thought one of you would figure it out! You're all so gullible."
  16. Subversion slumps, staring at the Platypus. Tears flow from her eyes as the life leaves them, and her mouth moves, forming words that are barely audible. "You really... cared... about me. You all cared... so much." With that, she collapses to the ground lifelessly. Behind everyone, Unintelligible starts to laugh.
  17. She and TAAron confessed their feelings for each other, I believe. Nameless glanced at Haly, feeling a pang of guilt. Storms. I haven't told her about the price one of us will have to pay. Is that wrong? If she knew, she'd probably insist on paying it herself.
  18. Tel'aran'rhiod, the World of Dreams. It's another parallel dimension, and it's supposed to be even harder to escape the tower in it than in the waking world. I can make a gateway to it, get Malum stuck in there. Even a god may have trouble.
  19. Shhh, it's good practice for other rp's. Subversion closed her eyes, focusing. Almost ready. If I can just catch them off guard, I still have a chance at this.
  20. "Yeah? You'd kill a defenseless opponent?" While she spoke, Subversion gathered all of her remaining power for one last attack.
  21. Alright. Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully he doesn't try to get in our way while we're in the tower. If he does... I have something that might work against him. It should at least delay him while we get TAAron healed.
  22. "Really?" Subversion smirked. "You believing that really will help me win." She tensed, preparing to charge- the sword disappeared from her hands. Subversion cursed, realizing she was surrounded. "All-all right, fine! Kill me! None of you have the nerve."
  23. Subversion chuckles. "Arrogant to the end. Just like Valiant. That pathetic slime always had too high an opinion of his abilities, just like you." She points the Mordite sword towards Wizard's heart. "Well then, come on. I'll face both of you at once!"
