  1. Unfortunately, the charity had secretly been taken over by greedy corporate businessmen that were embezzling massive amounts of money.
  2. Unintelligible yawned, finally waking up from his Root-induced coma. He glanced at his calendar, and promptly fell out of his bed. Unintelligible appeared next to the vengeance party. "Hey guys. Sorry I wasn't able to help you out with Subversion. Were you successful?"
  3. "Malum just about took you over again, I think."
  4. Subversion is upset by this, but decides not to push the matter too far.
  5. "Pretty much. We can sprinkle iron dust whenever we turn around, so we know where we've been."
  6. "Up? I dunno. As I said, space is weird here. If we turned around right now, we'd probably find our way to a completely new location." "It wouldn't. We're stuck in this dimension until we negotiate a way out."
  7. "The walls aren't keeping us in here. We're in an entirely different dimension."
  8. "To where? out of the tower?"
  9. "Keep walking? Hopefully they'll keep trying to trick us, for a while." "Not possible now, I'm afraid!" Nameless grinned, gesturing to the walls. "We're stuck now! Unless we negotiate a way out, that is."
  10. The Aelfinn slept, unable to answer any further questions. From behind TAAron, Nameless spoke up. "They won't. And we can't trust any deals they make until we get to the Chamber of Bonds. Remember that."
  11. The Finn's eyes drifted shut, and it slumped against the wall, asleep.
  12. "We can... repair the damage. It is a simple matter, and many have come to us for such healing." The Finn's eyes drooped shut briefly, and it began leaning against the wall for support. "We replace the damaged parts of your soul with... raw material, and link it so that it adapts to your own soul."
  13. "I'd start humming, but that'd probably just wake the thing up all the way."
  14. The Aelfinn glares at Lerac. "Stop that insufferable music! We only wish to help you."
  15. The Aelfinn hisses, eyes drooping as it apparently becomes groggy.
  16. "Simply come with me. Give up your iron, your fire, your music, and I will take you to where you may be healed."
  17. "My name is not relevant. You are injured, and in need of healing. We can heal you."
  18. The corridor looked much the same as the one they'd left behind, occasional windows revealing a world of strange architecture that seemed to gravity. Eventually, the group came across a humanoid being with snakelike features. He stood as if waiting for them, staring intently at TAAron.
  19. "Oh, sorry. I should probably explain that part." Subversion reappeared, the ever-fickle Sword of Plot held in her hand. "He was still alive. I killed his body, but his Narrationblade, and most of his power, survived. Eventually, his mind healed, and he broke free of me, mostly. I could still influence him, and of course cast illusions over him, prevent his words from reaching you, twist the words you said to him. Anyways, farewell." With that, she disappeared (for real this time)
  20. "Very well then. Haly? Which way do you think we should go?"
  21. "Of course, of course. We need to get going." "Still. Anyways, would you like to choose a path?"
  22. "Nonetheless, you joined what amounts to a suicide mission with surprising enthusiasm. That shows bravery. Or confidence in your powers, perhaps."
  23. "Don't sell yourself short. You're not nosy, you're prying and manipulative!"
  24. "Indeed. You've gone to a great deal of trouble to help us and your sister, and no one's even thanked you yet." "I can see why she doesn't want to talk to you. You seem to have a shipping and character development addiction."
  25. You're as bad as TAAron. Nameless shook his head, walking over to Sykel. "People are so irrational, aren't they?"
