  1. The ghost of the Yak approached Platypus and asked him to eat the human.
  2. Doesn't really matter. Duraluminum instantly burns your metals pretty much regardless of power level.
  3. Returned could have seen that in their initial vision. Lightsong could have seen Bluefinger's plan, and he could have just been more sensitive to current events and how they affect the future he'd seen. Still, it does put Nalthis higher than I was ranking it. Probably not as high as boosted electrum, at least in terms of reliability, but it is pretty powerful.
  4. Those soldiers weren't the richest, so it makes sense they wouldn't have mail, but they probably should have had gambesons.
  5. Nameless stood frozen, staring at TAAron and Haly, feeling something inside him breaking. I'm no hero. No protagonist. Kaladin wouldn't let something like this happen to his friend. I'm worthless. Storm it, I'm worse than worthless. All I ever do is get people killed, if I'm not killing them myself. I'm a monster, and nothing else. Breathing heavily, Nameless collapsed to the floor.
  6. They may have, when they put the Investiture into a vacuum.
  7. The Finn begin humming a strained note as all of TAAron's memories are ripped away. From the doorway into the Chamber, an Aelfinn approaches, holding something made of pure light. This is pressed into TAAron and even as the last of his memories fade, he finally feels the pain from his soul ease, and vanish. The Finn step back, satisfied. "It is complete. He is healed, and we have our price. Take your leave now, and do not return."
  8. Several Finn in armor grab Haly, forcing her to release TAAron and dragging her over to Nameless. One of the Eelfinn steps forward, placing a clawed hand on TAAron's head. Leaning in close, it whispers to TAAron. "Yes, our bargain is made. Malum. You think us easy to manipulate? We shall have the knowledge of a god alongside that of a mortal." The Finn laugh, a terrible sound, and pain shoots through TAAron as his memories begin to be taken.
  9. "Then the deal is accepted. Our bond is made. Step forth, and we shall take payment." The Finn arranged themselves in an open semicircle, facing TAAron.
  10. The Finn ignored her, focusing solely on TAAron. Nameless lunged to grab TAAron, but two Finn warriors grabbed him, and his ability to touch the Power was yet again blocked. "Please! Don't do this. You can't!"
  11. The Finn smiled wickedly. "You offer us your memories, of your own free will?"
  12. "No! I won't allow it. Not happening, TAAron." No Tors. You can be more than what you were created to be. The Finn looked deeply into TAAron's eyes. "You come from another world, yes?" They whispered among themselves for a time, before one of them stepped forwards. "You have memories of these worlds, of travelling beyond the Pattern?"
  13. "No, don't listen to her. Take my powers, my channeling." "I'd recover." Nameless hesitated. "Probably. I'm sure the clinic would help me." You are not a weapon. You are a person. The Finn watched the proceedings impassively. "You wish to give us the soul of a godkilling blade, the powers of this channeler, and a portion of the powers of this young woman?"
  14. "Haly, I know how you feel. Until recently, using saidin was literally driving me insane. And I could not stop myself from using it. For thousands of years, every single male channeler went insane and died, invariably. If they didn't take everyone nearby with them, they were lucky. "We'll make that part of the deal. They cure TAAron and send us home, in exchange for my powers." "I could have done more. I should have done more." NO! I won't let you commit suicide out of misplaced guilt. It's not happening. period. Got it?
  15. "No. None of you should give up anything. It's my fault that TAAron's soul got so badly damaged in the first place. If I'd been quicker to see what was wrong, to find him, none of this would've happened. And Haly, you just need a little more time to learn control of your powers. You'll master them in time." No Tors, it is not. You will live to see Malum's destruction, and I will not hear you say otherwise.
  16. "I-look." Nameless sighed, collecting his thoughts. "I'll give up my ability to channel the Power. It's not like I've been using it for good purposes. Honestly, It's fine." No. I am not going to let you sacrifice your life, Tors. Not when there's another way.
  17. "Look, it's nothing much. I'll pay this of my own free will, alright?" Nameless looked at Ranyru incredulously. "Options like what?"
  18. "Er, don't worry TAAron, I'll handle it, okay?"
  19. Nameless coughed, looking uncomfortable. "About that. I uh, well, I, um may have... lied a little."
  20. "And what do you offer us as payment?"
  21. One of the Aelfinn spoke, voice sounding annoyed. "You who have reached the Chamber of Bonds. For what do you bargain?"
  22. "Yes, this is the Chamber of Bonds. Storms, they must actually be worried."
  23. Nameless looked around the room, shocked. "This is it!"
  24. Nameless followed after, darkness twisting around the group. Abruptly, the group stood in a doorway opening to a star-shaped chamber with eight points. On the sharp edges of the room, glowing yellow strips ran, and at each point there lay an ominous black pedestal. Gathered in the room was a collection of both Aelfinn and Eelfinn, regarding the entering group warily.
