  1. Then the greatest Bob ever born appeared, ready to burn everything to ash.
  2. The Ghanderflaffle empire was rising on a tide of pineapples.
  3. The Second Archive Nameless struggled uselessly. "Not exactly. I actually walked into the trap, then found it. Anyways, you should take a look at those books. I think we're close to where we need to be, although their topics do seem to be rather... evil."
  4. The Second Archive Nameless stepped out of a gateway, annoyed to see yet more endless bookshelves before him. Rue was miles away from him at this point, going by the bond. He glanced at the bookshelves, scanning them for information to no avail. The shelves in this corridor were filled with books that appeared blank to his eyes. This section must be on saidar. He continued on his way. A few gateways later, Nameless came to a section that he could read again. Some of the books, at least. It appeared that a little more than half of the books had writing on them. As he examined one of them more closely, he realized that the text was unintelligible. Confused, he scanned the bookshelf, eyes falling on a book with a readable title. Nameless felt a chill as he read the title of the book. On the Creation and Modification of Gholam. He glanced at another book, then another, eyes widening in horror. The Efficacy of Compulsion on Deities. Research on the destruction of the Dark One's prison. Nameless walked down the corridor slowly, shaking his head. "Light, if these books are left undefended, what more do they have?" Suddenly, Nameless felt the air around him solidify as he was lifted into the air. Oh. Guess it was defended. Reaching for saidin Nameless attempted to cut whatever was holding him with weaves of spirit, to no avail. Frustrated, he sent a sense of helplessness Rue, hoping she'd get the message.
  5. Soon, they'd managed to completely disrupt the economy of the planet by entirely nonviolent methods.
  6. Clinic: Hallways Lark nodded. "First, we have to regroup. Thaidakar's leading an attack there shortly, I believe, so we should meet up with him." Wincing, he used his Quillblade to cut a hole to Calano's office. "Come on." Calano's Office Lark stepped through the hole in the air. "Thaidakar. Are our forces gathered?" @The Aspiring Archivist @Thaidakar the Ghostblood @That1Cellist
  7. So I took a creative writing class, and this short story is the result. I was planning to post this earlier, but I wanted to do some edits that I haven't found the time to do. Anyways, here it is: Am I done with this story? No. I'd like to edit it further, and I have at least one scene I'd like to add to the thing. I don't know if I want to write a follow up, or if I'll find time to do so. My semester's pretty busy right now. Maybe over spring break. Anyways, thoughts? Constructive criticism? suggestions? (For any you who are in FotT season 2, it is possible that you'd notice some similarities between this story and my character Klave in the Fellowship. That's because when I first joined that I saw the rate people were posting at and realized I needed a character quickly, so I pulled the MC from this story, gave him a name and some character development, slapped an OP magic system on him, and tossed him in)
  8. "The roof of the clinic. The pillar is being corrupted."
  9. The Second Archive Nameless opened a gateway to the distant end of one of the long corridors of bookshelves and stepped through it. "No traps yet. I'll keep going. Have you learned the area well enough for a gateway? When I find a trap, you'll probably be able to feel it through the bond." He formed another gateway and ran through. Clinic: Hallways Lark caught up to Lerac, face slightly pale. "Lerac? I think I know where this Wynn went." @The Aspiring Archivist
  10. Lark frowned, drawing on his staff powers to shift the hallways and allow himself through. To his horror, nothing happened. What? But that's not... Oh no. He pulled out his phone, calling Thaidakar. "Thaidakar, change of plans. The Clinic's being corrupted! You have to attack. They're corrupting the pillar. Get everyone there now if you want a chance at keeping this place safe until Calano returns. And prep the evacuation protocols, just in case." Cursing softly, he put down his phone and pulled out a quill, jabbing it into his arm to forge a link with his soul. The quill expanded, forming a translucent blade of shimmering red. He stabbed this blade into the wall of flames, grunting at the effort as he cut a hole through them large enough to pass through. "Shark, come on. We've got to get this idiot pointed in the right direction!" He grabbed Shark, moving with unnatural speed as he ran through he hole in the flames. @That1Cellist
  11. Lark glared at him. "I'm a doctor here. My name's Lark, and I want to help you. However, I'm afraid I can't do that if your friend insists on getting himself killed. He's heading right for the area of the clinic where Kaos's forces are most concentrated! No matter how powerful that dagger is, he can't fight through them all on his own. Not if he expects to live aftewards." Lark moved the wall out of the way and dashed after Lerac, pulling a quill from his pocket. @The Aspiring Archivist
  12. Clinic: Hallways Lark snapped his fingers, shifting the walls to block Lerac's path. "Stop. Why do you need to reach Wynn? What is so important about it?" @The Aspiring Archivist
  13. Lark grabbed Lerac's shoulder. "No, you don't. We're regrouping. You can get to Wynn later."
  14. The Second Archive "Yeah. That would explain why you can't see it. There's probably books somehow inscribed with saidar as well, in different sections." Nameless examined other books on the shelf. "We still need a way to find what we need. Maybe we should search for defenses? They'd have the really useful knowledge better guarded, wouldn't they?" "I'm a doctor at an insanity clinic, storm it! What kind of storming evaluation do you think I'm rusting talking about? You're a patient! Not a soldier!" Lark shot Thaidakar a glare before disappearing in an angry flash. Lark appears in front of Lerac, expression still angry. "You there. You're with TAAron's group, yes?" He frowned, noticing Lerac's state of distress. "What's the matter? Are you alright?" @Thaidakar the Ghostblood
  15. Most of them aren't plot. The backstory of the current plot that's sort of dead right now technically began on page 1537, but most of the intervening stuff isn't relevant or plot at all. There's also some TLT lore that's been developed, namely the concept of Narrators, Authors, Withergeists, Enullers, and Luxsprites. Enullers and Luxsprites are pretty much completely irrelevant in the current plot, and Withergeists are only slightly relevant. Brief explanation of what those terms mean and a rundown on TLT's 'canon' history as I understand it: If you want to know more about TLT lore or wish to fact check my understanding of it, @xinoehp512 has a TLT ama and is quite knowledgeable about it, having been involved in the creation of the lore and several RP's that spun off from TLT. The current lore doesn't involve any of that ancient history, aside from many of the characters involved being Narrators and one of Bookwyrm's characters having a sword made from Mordite a substance of disordered darkness that can kill anything. If you want a background on the current characters, I can probably do that for most of them. If you read all this and are feeling intimidated, don't be. Feel free to just ignore it and jump right in. this is still TLT, so technically the only rules are what we make them to be. Until Moniker stepped up to the plate. She started a group in protest against the evils of tyranny that gathered millions of citizens from that planet.
  16. "It looks like a weave. Exactly like one. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was real." Namelesss frowned channeling his own thread of spirit. He gasped suddenly, understanding coming to his eyes. "Light, it is real! How did they do something like this?" Calano's Office Lark started scribbling on his clipboard angrily, muttering to himself. "You're putting TAAron in charge? I haven't even had time to get a rudimentary evaluation! Storms, this is a mess." @Thaidakar the Ghostblood @The Aspiring Archivist
  17. "Of course." Lark waved a hand, and the world fuzzed around him, TAAron, and Corey Calano's office Lark appeared with TAAron and Corey. "Thaidakar, here's TAAron. What'd you want with him again? Please tell me you're not going to use him for an extremely critical part of the clinic's defense. @Thaidakar the Ghostblood @Szeth's Facepalm
  18. Lark shook his head angrily. "No clue. But he's in charge, so I'm following his orders."
  19. Lark sighed. "Another new patient? Now? No matter, I can take any number of people."
  20. Lark sighed, but vanished to do as asked. Clinic: Outside the Infirmary Lark appears in front of TAAron, holding a glowing quill with a shimmering red blade extending around it. "TAAron. Thaidakar wishes to speak with you." @The Aspiring Archivist
  21. Lark nodded, scribbling something down on his clipboard. Across the clinic, the walls began flashing in bright red letters: All Patients and staff report to the fifth floor as soon as possible. "Anything else you want me to do?"
  22. Calano's Office "Right. You have a plan? It's chaos out there, not to put it too bluntly."
  23. The Second Archive "Blank?" Nameless opened to book, turning a blank page to face Rue. "What are you talking about? It's got words there." He flipped a page absently, then gasped. "Light! That's the best illustration of a weave that I've ever seen." He stared in awe at the page, which was also blank to Rue's eyes. Calano's Office Lark sighed. "It? What exactly do you mean by that?" @Thaidakar the Ghostblood
  24. No One watches him go, wondering if the Narrator would prove up to the task ahead.
