  1. If they could connect it to his soul that could be just as effective, if not more, right?
  2. A lot of mysterious stuff (AKA stuff I don't know) but relevant here is it's ability to suppress energy.
  3. "Still. If you all run, I could lead them away, buy you more time until morning. I-" The man with a shovel took a deep breath. "You shouldn't have to die at his hands."
  4. She wasn't referring to the Luxite, but the Nullite. She was just most shocked that the Once-Author had Luxite, since it's so incredibly rare. "Exactly. If we attack Desolation's mind, we can forge the connection that way. I'm not sure exactly what it would do, but it would at least suppress his stolen Narration."
  5. The man with the shovel steadied himself, backing away from the monster. "I... You should all run. Once I die all the nightmares I'm making will go away, right?"
  6. "He's too well specialized against Narration. Hey, Abalodor! Get over here and take this bag." @TheRavenHasLanded
  7. "Look, it's not going to work like that. Stabbing Desolation with this won't work. We need to connect it directly to his being."
  8. The man with the shovel looked terrified, holding his shovel in trembling hands.. "You don't understand. He's tormented every member of my family for the past two hundred and fifty years! We can't fight him, nothing can!" A shape stumbled out of the forest, movements causing a horrible grinding sound. It looked up with dead eyes gleaming red with reflected firelight, staring directly at the man with the shovel. As the creature approached, its figure became more clear. It looked almost human, save for the jagged bones jutting from nearly every inch of its body. As it walked, blackened blood dripped from its many wounds, killing everything it touched. The creature accelerated as it neared the group, opening its mouth in a terrible scream and leaping for the shovel man, who was too terrified to react.
  9. Subversion glared at him, then put the Nullite back into the bag. "It Silenced me. I forgot about that aspect of Nullite."
  10. "I don't have any abilities to suppress at the moment." Subversion stuck her hand into the sack and pulled out the Nullite. She examined it closely, then started outlining her plan. Or tried to, at least. Her mouth moved, but no words came out.
  11. The ground beneath shovel man's feet trembled, and he threw himself to the side just as a column of twisted white spikes made of bone shot up out of the ground. "We have to get out of here! He'll kill us all!" All around the group the ground shook, more bone spikes shooting up all around them.
  12. "Give me that Nullite. I have no idea how it works, but if we use this, we should be able to suppress Desolation's abilities."
  13. "No, nothing like that. It's just that for something like ten generations my family's suffered from horrible, extremely vivid nightmares." A scraping sound echoed out of the forest, and something moved in haze of fire and smoke of the burning trees. "It's strange because all of us have nightmares of the same thing."
  14. Subversion's eyes bulged. "You have LUXITE?!" She winced, then continued in a whisper. "Why didn't you mention this earlier? We could've stopped Desolation so much more easily." An attack to the mind, I believe.
  15. "So... this would be a bad time to mention that my family suffers from a rather strange medical condition?"
  16. Subversion looked impressed. "Where'd you get that?"
  17. The man with a shovel swung his shovel by reflex, chopping the grass with its sharpened edge. "Wait, so whatever nightmares we imagine will attack us?
  18. @ΨιτιsτηεΒέsτ check the post above
  19. The guy with a shovel gripped his shovel tighter. "Why are the trees burning?"
  20. "You're real? I never- I mean- I thought it was all made up!" The man picks his shovel up. "Where're we going?"
  21. "I've been... good?" The man looked at Xiylna, expression of horror fading from his face. "I uh, don't remember ever seeing you."
  22. "You're wh-" The man notices his new surroundings, dropping his shovel in horror. "WHERE AM I? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?"
  23. The man holding a shovel slows to a halt a few feet away from everyone else. "Who are you people? What are you doing with my neighbor?"
  24. "HEY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING WITH ALTAIR?!" A man holding a shovel runs through the forest towards the group.
  25. "Are you forgetting that Desolation can absorb narration as it's used? That actually makes it easier for him to steal it."
