I agree that they won't be fully connected until the fifth ideal this is confirmed by the honor spren in shadesmar that being said I still think that Syl would be able to sense Yixli because of how the spren of Dalinar and of Renarin are able to sense the dead shard blades they had bonded the stormfather was able to break the bond between Dlainar and his dead blade (this may be because the stormfather is so strong) and I don't think that Syl would be strong enough to break the bond if it was already made between Yixli and Kaladin but I think she could prevent it from starting.

I think Syl would be able to notice because Syl and Kaladin's souls have been intertwined with one another and I would imagine it would be hard for Syl not to notice Yixli approaching in shadesmar as well as making a bond with Kaladin.

I just think that Skar and Drehy just didn't know the way back to Urithiru. (edit) and just didn't want to get lost

I don't think Syl would allow it I think she might even try to break the bond with Kal and I would hate that.

you need to be a savant or compounder to see trace metals (I believe) or just be superpowerful (lerasium mistborn).

that thought also crossed my mind but I don't think it will be that way because perfect gemstones would then have no benefit other than surviving the weeping.

my question is how will perfect gems affect soulcasters? Will perfect gems not crack when used to soulcast because it seems to me that it shouldn't but it might or will they just last longer than normal gems.

this is somewhat unrelated but what if a radiant wants to manifest a bow would they have to use their own arrows or could the spren manifest as both a bow and arrows.

so is it possible that is why she could use pattern or is it just that she had advanced then regressed?

fair enough. but I have also heard that Shallan had some involvement with Sja-anat at a young age is it possible that her influence allowed Shallan to use pattern too soon

I hate to be a party pooper but I don't think we will see a resurrection of Maya (I personly want to see Adolin as a radiant but im kinda worried we won't see it) this quote from Brandon is the main reason why. If you were knowing to look for a difference, you would notice a slight difference, mostly if you could speak to or sense the Sword, but it wouldn’t have a very big mechanical difference, if that makes sense. I don't want this to be the case with Adolin but I think it is. it is also possible that because of this he will be able to bring back Maya.

I like all of these ideas because I feel like Urithiru kinda fell short I think when they get the pillar at the heart of Urithiru working a lot of cool things will start popping up.
