  1. Roshar is completely alien without any resemblance to earth, but I see your point, I'm just saying that we can't say for certain that all of our rules hold water.
  2. Your using real world physics here, but you forget about how much perception affects things. Additionally the Cosmere functions with rules different to our own last I checked we didn't have a cognitive realm. Theoretically this could function with just spiritual attributes but that seems unlikely that Brandon would only have four when Cosemere is big on 16. Of course it's simplistic and will probably have to be torn apart as we learn more, it's the first of it's kind(that I'm aware of). If we suddenly found another Universe bordered our own we would have no way to tell how exactly anything worked there, we could theorize but until we made a major breakthrough into instruments of technology that right now we would think of as mystical, we would be left with that speculation. I can't synthesis years of research or make actual tests but this is what I have. Mainly trying to unify all magic because let's be honest if Brandon has more likely than not figured that out. Also thinking along the lines of MIstborn, Stormlight, and Dragonsteel, forming the Cosmere backbone; and we found out about Spiritual attributes in Mistborn, and Surges in Stormlight(technically I think that's where we got the three realms from so maybe that's what we we're suppose to take away) and I believe Dragonsteel will introduce the final two pieces.
  3. Even our definition is incomplete with Highs and X17 and all, but that's the best we have, just as this is the best I have. I'm working with an undeveloped branch of thought so no it isn't perfect but it's the best I've seen for unifing all Cosmere magic.
  4. If we find out more in solid fact, not just "I don't think that works" I'll change or remove this depending on how bad it is, until then it works.
  5. Well it's mass but also not mass(one of the reasons I don't have Feruchemy listed above) as Wax's punches don't gain incredible power when tapping Iron.
  6. And leave Illumination out? Last I checked this was Booknered's guide to the Cosmere opinion and speculation are implied. And besides how does that differ from the real world? We have never seen darkmatter yet we treat it like it's fact, we have only seen the effects it has and extrapolated. Than why on Earth(or Scandrial in this case) is it related to weight if gravity has nothing to do with it? Era Two has made it especially clear that it is weight related. So what is your point?
  7. The surges ARE fundamental forces by their perspective, just as Electromagnetism is a fundamental force from our perspective. Brandon has said that they are basically the same(I'll link WoB later)
  8. And you will ignore that Allomantic Bendalloy is gravitational? I do believe that the surges fit into this, if you have anything to refute it other than, "I don't think in world thinking should be taken as how their world works" I'll be happy to hear it
  9. Return of The King 302
  10. I Know. Elend did it once SA
  11. Oh, your getting around the no-mistborn thing oh. A Twinborn could theoretically have the same affect but this HHhhmm. I'm going to say that they don't know about it, that both are too expensive to just test things on, and that if it did happen that they might go insane.
  12. Because any twinborn Combos are rare, there are(If math is correct) 1024 types of Twinborn and twinborn make a small percent of the population anyway Edit: my math is wrong you can be a Feruchemist/misting Twinborn so the actual number is 1040
  13. Woah, respect I first read them in fourth grade and I understood only a little of it, only recently have I truly had a grasp on what it is, though I did occasionally go through the appendixes at the back of The Return of the King. I recommend you do so it's fascinating. 299
  14. Again domination, just a different form.
  15. Have you never played a game where you had more power than anyone else? Or more skill I should say. What is the first thing you do? You dominate it's just natural you don't need a reason and might not even know why you do it. That I see as better villainy I don't care about the backstory because that makes them less imposing, someone who kills because they like killing is far more scary than a dude out for revenge. In my opinion. Um ok.
  16. I haven't seen the Hobbit movies so I can't say. Lotr movies gets a lot wrong but they are easier for younger audiences or for a first dip into Tolkien so, I have mixed feelings.
  17. I was asking why Trav like relatable villains I am aware of the argument, and it's one I don't understand. If you like relatable villains Why?
  18. Yeah do the Hobbit first. 292
  19. HHhhhhmmmm. Which Cosmere are we talking here? If you skipped Lotr for Warbreaker, war won't be the only thing broken. However if your trying to get Stormlight or Mistborn I'll give you leniency. Tolkien's legendarium is by far the most world-built setting ever and I love it for that but Sanderson is easier to read, so if your reading something good I'll let you make the call. 289
  20. *Angry muttering* thie, sptue. YOU WHAT!!!!! How Dare you, at least quit on Two Towers that's actually hard to read, but Bombadil? What is wrong with you? Tom is literally the best thing to grace the face of a fantasy page ever! And if you haven't even read the books that put's you at a huge disadvantage to myself. I recommend re-reads, each time I understand more especially as I get older. I also recommend The Silmarilion as that will let you pick up on a lot of hidden references to the first age and such. 287
