what do you think the first tri shard is going to be, with the way things are going there's a good chance it could be odium, honour, and cultivation. but my main question is can multiple people hold a single shard/greater shard?

trying to make nightblood in dnd 5e
easy parts:
sentience
blind sense
long sword
consumes spell slots when drawn
telepathy
harder parts:
alignment LN?
how much damage should it do (no i can't make it an insta-kill like it is in the book) i'm thinking damage dependant on spell slot sacrificed

Im trying to think what would make Valor. Maybe Honor + Ambition?
A knight is sworn to valour,
His heart knows only virtue,
His blade defends the helpless,
His might upholds the weak,
His word speaks only truth,
HIS WRATH UNDOES THE WICKED.

Honor and Odium: Retribution
Odium and Devotion: Passion
Ambition and Dominion: Conquest
Devotion and Dominion: Nobility
Dominion and Odium: Tyranny
Ambition and Honor: Discipline
Autonomy and Dominion: Democracy
Cultivation and Ruin: Transition
Devotion and Honor: Loyalty
And wouldn’t it be other 239? 16 x 15 - 1?
the the combination of greater shards that are a mix of two shards is 15+14+13.....+2+1=120-1 cause harmony

what name do you think the greater shards will be called we have harmony so far but what do you think the other 119 combinations could be called? i like discipline being odium+honour

Less of a "Hole" and more of a Socket; it's not an unnatural missing piece so much as an innate ability to augment with accessory pieces. It's like if a person where born with a hemalurgic spike in them, but had to go through a ritual to "invite" one of several types of Investiture Charge to inhabit it. The main difference is that while a Spike is "Ripping a Hole" in the spiritweb which makes the person vulnerable to Shardic influence, the Gemheart is an entirely natural feature of the spiritweb.
from what little we get from the songs it does hint that shards could influence you when bonded with certain spren, maybe the higher spren

do listeners have a hole in their spirit web where a spren inhabits and transforms them?

Fortune is not luck, it involves seeing the future. Storing/Tapping would not affect a hypothetical roll of the dice, but it would let you, say, run a maze quicker.
"related to luck, seeing the future, or versions of the future"

I'm not sure what you mean by "empowers the connection of the separate pieces of your soul."
A Cognitive Shadow is basically a person who has figured out a way to stick around after death. For example, a certain character was able to dunk himself in a Shardpool and use that Investiture to resist the call to the Beyond.
I'm not sure how storing/tapping Connection/empowerment would accomplish the same thing.
while you're tapping the power your connection between mind body and spirit becomes strong enough to not fall apart while dying

Generally, a Shard would have to work to make foreign metals function in the Metallic Arts. But, if tanavastium was made to work, we have no idea what it would do.
What leads you to believe that it would turn you into a Cognitive Shadow?
everything about honours magics seem to be about connection and empowerment so what if using it empowers the connection of the separate pieces of your soul

could a tanavanium (honours divine metal) ferring become a cognitive shadow without aid?

Super cool to see them Crossover
If one of your players want a deeper understanding of the force you could pull something like Taravangian or Dorian (from Night Angle Series) and make it so they go into a trance every so often that makes them see the universe and the force from a different point of view.
For example while in the middle of running or fighting suddenly the character is slack jawed and contemplating the logical claims of two insects having a dispute somewhere in the universe. Or overlooking the surges of power in the weather to know its about to rain, but had to spend time literally with their mind in the clouds. Things like that.
they would need to roll a will check or something to bring their mind back on task if they want to end the experience early.
it gives them a deeper understanding and the force isnt just limited to powers but binds and connects Everything, but with this it will sometimes not the most opportune times or pertinent information.
it allows you to give hints or information in visions and the like.
well the way i went was deeper understanding of the force is elentrian needing knowledge checks to perform, and i made the other force sensitive a chromium ferring as they asked to be lucky when they needed it

So instead of what I said being debated, my supposed tone is? Doesn't that seem finicky and irrelevant?
"It is not the destination that matters, but how one arrives there" in this case it more how you present your argument is more important then what you believe it to be about. in a true argument both sides must strive to ensure that the two are the same

I understand that my tone might make it sound like I'm accusing Sanderson of lying or something, except I then explained my actual point, so...
regardless of what you think your presentation gives the air that your main point is this that at some point we will have every question or at least this one answered, i don't believe we will, this doesn't rule out that we might, but i doubt we will. since your are making this claim, inadvertently or otherwise, the burden of proof is on you to show that there are hints about this, and i can't remember any being present in any of the books
1 -
@Ripheus23 your tone implies that he will change are some point and make a defiant answer but as we all know "the future is forbidden"

"Hey! Listen!"
(Okay I know that joke has already been made, but I can't resist).
yes you could've and you should be ashamed of yourself that you didn't

so the final force user ask to have luck when they needed it so they're now a spinner. i know this is ultimately up to me but, should i make it so that they need a metal mind or just have it be innate

This might have been suggested before, and I know that this passage has been analysed many a time.
Hoid mentions at the end of both Way of Kings and Words of Radiance about him being "spiritually" blind, and he says that he was very clever by stating this.
In my opinion, this is also why Hoid is so unafraid of Jasnahs Shardblade at the end of Words of Radiance, and why he states that it can do him little harm, as the Shardblade cannot properly cut anything in the physical realm (the blade seems to "fuzz") until it kills the soul (severs the ties to the spiritual realm). Meaning that seeing as Hoid has no ties to the spiritual realm, a Soul killing sword can do little harm to him.
Thoughts?
don't forget the cognitive shadows of kelseir, the heralds, and the hallandren gods all of which do not age

Not sure which definition of the word you mean, so here’s both!
Angry word curse: Discernment! Or possibly Mastery! or Perception!
Annoying magical curse: A Knight Radiant spren follows them around and has a rather irritating personality, constantly giving them unnecessary and unhelpful advice on everything. And maybe it provides them with a cursed shardblade, kinda like a tame Nightblood?
boon and curse like the old magic boon is a deeper understanding of the force but i want a curse as well

so i am running a star wars campaign, the entire party is two force sensitives, a tank, and a pilot, and so far one of the force sensitives and the pilot have been brandosised
i had a force sensitive meet cultivation
had the pilot become a technomancer skyward style
now the next session will be a one shot with the other two characters, and i wondering what brandosising should i do to them, thinking of making the other force sensitive a elantrian
also im trying to figure out a suitable curse for "a deeper understanding of the force"

What exactly are you referring to by "creating lesser shards"? Are you talking about him Splintering Ambition/Honor, him stuffing Dominion/Devotion in the CR, or something else?
the fragments that where made by splintering other shards specifically

since investiture cannot created or destroyed it is apparent that odium has insured that the powers cannot merge again so my main question is by doing so has he inadvertently created "lesser shards"
1 -
how many do we have now, i think one of the largest is from stormlight is "I will not be a simple sword to you"
