Daughter of the Prime Forest sat at her watch post, watching the night. She could sense, rather then see, that the Servant of the Mad god was nearby. He was continuing his experiments. Daughter didn't approve of what he was doing, but there was no use trying to stop him. That had never worked out well, and besides, they were only humans. She pulled out a piece of chalk, flipping it in her hand. The magic here was so strange. Why chalk? Why that particular type of stone? And why was it so based on math... She continued to consider.

Ok I need to set a reminder on my phone because rollover was a hour earlier then I thought it was. #timezone problems. Anyway this was the RP I was going to post end of last cycle: ___ Daughter of the Prime Forest didn't know why chalk was important, but for whatever reason, she could do things with it. Put her will onto a drawing and make it come alive. She spent most of the night awake, sketching small creatures and watching in fascination as they came alive. Perhaps this world wasn't too bad after all, but she still wanted to find a way to return home. No one had questioned her as she had intergrated into the camp, trying to fake more than she knew. It didn't always work, but there were enough people that nobody noticed her questions. She had long grown used to the rather... unpleasant experiment that the Servant of the Mad God played, and she ignored him, for the most part, except for the occasional glance walking across from one another. They had an unspoken agreement to ignore the other, for now.

Daughter of the Prime Forest listened with interest as the man berated them. Did he know who he was speaking to? Even the youngest First of the Last knew to listen when she spoke. She was a demigod, immortal and eternal. The Servant of the Mad god seemed to be going along with it, however, though he was fiddling with a small glass marble in which a miniature globe was trapped inside. The man was yammering on about something called the Forgotten, at which point the Servant of the Mad god tossed his marble up into the air and gave a cool smile. "I'm a forgotten, you know." He said with a smile and a wink, "they're always forgetting me. I swear Daughter of the Prime Forest would forget me if I didn't keep reminding her." The man sat there, slowly blinking. "What's wrong with him?" "Probably in shock." Daughter took the opportunity to slip out of the tent. "We need to blend in." "Sure." She gave him a serious look.

"I do not think that Life would approve much of that..." She trailed off as she saw a man in a deep blue uniform standing near one of the stands, watching the, with a grim expression. "What in the fifty isles do you think you're doing? By chalks we've got a war to fight, we can't be dancing to defeat the chalklings!"

Daughter let herself be pulled along to the dance. There was no use protesting when the Servant of the Mad god was involved. Reluctantly, at her urging, she let the plants creep up beneath them. The dance floor was soon covered in small purple flowers, reaching up to wrap themselves around her bare feet wherever she stepped. "Why is there so much chalk here," she murmured. It was so unusual. There was something... wrong about that chalk. It tickled at her senses, but it wasn't until the plants around her began to climb further and further up her legs, the flowers blooming in all sorts of patterns that she finally realized. "Servant of the Mad God. If you really want to do experiments on plants, you should perhaps do some on ones that are not under my power as well? You'll get confounding results there."

The swirling portal dropped Daughter of the Prime Forest ten feet into the air. In the brief moments as she fell, she noticed the strange circle of-was that chalk? As soon as her feet touched the ground, small plants began to nudge up from the ground below her. With a mental push she shoved the plants away, though a few continued to twine around her feet. Where was she? She had been walking through the village, on the way to lecture the children... Hmm. That portal had the stench of the Mad God all over it. She cocked her head, focusing. Yes, he was here. Was this an illusion? No, she had gotten good at sensing his tricks over the past few years. This was no illusion. She set off through the arrangement of tents and tarps, noticing as she did so that people were staring at her oddly. It did seem that they wore very different clothes than she did. She would have to find some to match. Daughter was pretending to examine a piece of chalk at a stand when his voice came behind her. “Salutations, Daughter of the Prime Forest,” Daughter grimaced with his tone. The Mad god's power was unatural. “I welcome you to this land and to this realm.” She turned to see him standing there, already clothed in the native style. “What brings you here?” "I think a better question is why you brought us here. That portal had the stench of the Mad God all over it."
