  1. Saw Spider-Man: Far From Home last night, and really dug it! I wouldn't say it's quite as great as Homecoming, which I believe is the second best spidey film, after Into the Spider-verse. However, it's still my next favorite, so I really enjoyed it. Jon Watts manages to continue to nail the characters, to the point the good spidey stuff often isn't even needed for the film to be enjoyable. Peter and MJ's budding romance and awkward chemistry is constantly delightful to me. Ned has plenty to do, and I loved what they did with Betty in this one. Jake Gyllenhaal is great too, especially given certain events.
  2. Yeah that's a good idea. Michael in particular is radically different. He's still kind of a cocky d-bag at times, but he's a lot... less. He's just so over the top in season 1 that he's really unlikeable.
  3. Resident Evil Revelations. Fiance and I are playing the raid mode. She wants the platinum so I'm helping her. We both can't stand it, lol. It's so painfully bad.
  4. Season 2 of the office is where is gets good! Season 1... it's rough. It's only six episodes thank goodness, but they're hard to get into, especially now. But yeah, it quickly becomes great. My personal favorite tv show!
  5. Been watching some classic Star Trek TOS! Really love that show.
  6. A little over 400 pages into the Great Hunt! Under 200 to go. Should finish it pretty soon. Mom is up to visit for the fourth, so no idea how much reading I'll be doing! Really got her into Sanderson, so she keeps asking a lot of questions I don't have answers to yet! XD
  7. It definitely feels like it. Each episode can be self contained, but they're painting a broader canvas. If you like his previous works you'll probably dig the show! I'm up to episode 4 now. 3 is easily the best of the trio I've watched.
  8. Been watching Too Old to Die Young on Amazon. I adore the world of NWR, and this is like a 15 hour NWR film, so I'm digging it!
  9. Enjoying all the people reading WoT! I'm still reading the great hunt. Haven't gotten too far into it. I'm about 190 pages in. Been keeping busy with some other stuff so I haven't been able to dive in like I did last week with Eye of the World!
  10. XII is one of my favorite games, but the vanilla ps2 version lacked complexity that the zodiac age brought to the table, and it's super slow now to the point I doubt I'd ever be able to play it normally.
  11. They're good don't let the tugs convince you orherwise! "shallan blushed" is far more often than anything else and Stormlight is still darn good!
  12. When does this braid tugging start? I'm on book 2 and it still hasn't happened yet! I've read more than enough "licked his/her lips" or "licked the last crumbs of bread and cheese from his/her fingers" though...
  13. Welcome! Always nice to see new faces
  14. Any word on when Warbreaker will be announced/up for pre-order?
  15. Brooklyn 99 is fantastic! One of my favorite comedies. I'm not caught up on the new season, but I really enjoyed 1-5.
  16. They don't really bother me all that much. They might all look like Lego peopl, but I think there is charm in seeing the story told with character models like that. Overall 7 is a wee bit overhyped (it's not the best Final Fantasy, let alone JRPG of all time like some claim), but still fully worth playing through. im cautiously excited about the remake. It looks gorgeous, but it's split into multiple parts, and frankly, modern Square Enix hasn't really given me a reason to have faith yet. They've bungled basically every Final Fantasy since X in some way.
  17. Been playing the original FF7! Just passed the first visit to the gold saucer. Such a great game still! Love all the options in the ps4 version too lol. Also playing some black ops 4 for the double merit/xp weekend!
  18. I was (and I guess am) really behind a Finn/Poe ship. The thing is, it ain't happening. They won't go there, and I have a hard time being too invested in something that so clearly won't happen. FinnRey makes me vomit cause holy crap do those two annoy the hell out of me. Finn, especially in TLJ, wore on my nerves. It's like he had nothing to his personality except to care about Rey. Oscar has been in a lot of great stuff! Some stinkers too, but at this point, what actor hasn't been in a bad movie?
  19. I refuse to start name of the wind until there's any word on an actual date for the final book. Not a big fan of authors who just disappear for a decade between books. I hear it's fantastic though, and that makes the pain of waiting harder. My dad tried to get me to read it for years, but now he just grumbles about the third book. i finished Eye of the World a bit ago! Really excited to dig into The Great Hunt tonight!
  20. It's up on his reddit! Loving the sound of the progress he's made. A book more in line with Way of Kings than WoR/OB sounds great! He's also starting to think a 2020 release may be possible. Personally I'd be ecstatic for that, but I'm more than prepared for 2021 if he needs the time.
  21. Reddit post would be awesome, but the book will always come first! Write like the wind Brandon!
  22. Ugh, when Lord of the Rings was hitting theaters, I made my parents buy EVERY cover. I'm still finding unread copies to sell or giveaway all these years later. Too many copies indeed!
  23. I really feel like people only love Poe because he's played by Oscar Isaac, one of the most charismatic men in Hollywood. Otherwise, his character... he's the reason the whole trilogy happened. If he'd done something sensible at the start of TFA, there'd have been no plot thread for Kylo. Like seriously, imagine he just left with Bb-8, instead of charging a battalion by himself? He wouldn't have been captured, and Kylo wouldn't have know to look for BB-8. Movie over, lol. He killed Lor San Tekka before he could have interrogated him, so he had no idea, lol. They'd have had to let every villager live to be interrogated before they even knew it was Poe who was there, and by that point he'd have been long gone. Not to mention the stuff from TLJ, lol.
  24. Re-reading? More like re-finishing! You must have burned through those books!
  25. Oh yes, I've had a great time reading it! Took a bit to get going, but I've absolutely devoured it in the past three days. Up to page 500 now. Ordered the next two wheel of Time books as I think I'm ready for a long haul!
