I'll have to pick them up when I get a chance! I'm now knee deep into Eye of the World. Just finished chapter twenty-four, up to page 345 in my copy. I'm burning through it, and LOVING it. Going to order books 2 and 3 when I wake up. I decided I want to go to JordanCon next year, so I'm going to try and finish the whole series before I go.

Finally started my own wheel of time journey today! In one sitting I read the prologue through chapter eight! Not too shabby since I'll be reading even more through the night! I really like what I've read so far, and even then, it's barely scratching the surface. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the journey!

I remember hearing about that! It's one of the next things I'll pick up, probably in August. My birthday is the 9th and that'd make an easy pick-up for my family to get me! It's about Lift right? I liked her interlude, so I'm looking forward to it! Im currently up to chapter 5 in The Eye of the World!

Finished Words of Radiance! That was a heck of a book! I'm very tempted to dig into Oathbringer immediately, but I think I'm gonna wait just a bit longer, that way there isn't as much of a gap between 3 and 4. Time to start one of my many other books I have waiting!

14.99 a month, 12.99 for a single character per world. Also of note is that the game is FREE up until level 35, so you can give it a nice trial run before paying for anything!

Nah, I'll just watch the new clone wars season instead. It's adapting a lot of the material the book covered from what I've heard. I've met EK Johnston and had a conversation with her though. She's really nice. I might give the Padme book a shot. That wouldn't surprise me. The book "Last Shot" is an absolute mess. The whole thing reeks of "put in as many references to the movie as you can without actually saying anything because the book comes out first." Particularly the way it has Han deal with Qi'ra. It's so vague, it's incredibly detrimental. We get that Han is depressed about something, but it's not allowed to say why he's depressed, so it's just a vague nothingness that motivates Han during the flashbacks and it just does NOT work. It has nothing to do with the author being bad, but the clear limitations and guidelines in place to hit X amount of checkboxes, but reveal only Y amount of details. Claudia Gray has seemingly got around it, and Delilah Dawson performed well on her Phasma book, despite the fact that it ended up being useless because they offed Phasma so unceremoniously.

Happy late birthday!

There’s two key problems with current Star Wars books. Either they use the movie characters, but have fluff and useless stories, because they’re so afraid to tell a story that adds to the lore in fear of it going against a future movie. Or they tell interesting stories with fan fiction tier original characters who are grating and irritating.

I play 14 occasionally! I’m about level 31 at the moment. It’s such a great game.

Years and years ago, I bought the night angel trilogy as they were being published. I read half the first one but put it down. I was in I think 8th grade, and I just got busy. They sit on my shelf even now. I was planning on getting to them sometime this year. However, every time I hear someone talk about them, I feel like I should just give up on the endevour and start lightbringer instead.

Yep! Shallan continues to intrigue me! Sadly didn't do a whole lot of reading this week. Got busy catching up on E3, and managed to polish off a couple games that have been on my backlog for years. So at least I accomplished something. Sitting down to do a bit of reading before bed right now.

What are you playing right now?

E3 had some great stuff! Loved the Nintendo and SE conferences. Microsoft had a few surprises, with Keanu. I'm excited for Gears 5, but their conference sure didn't help with people being excited, lol. Jedi looks fun too! I came out of E3 pretty happy personally. Not a major hype year, but I got better looks at things I was already looking forward to, and got a great announcement in breath of the wild 2! -
Soon to be the Xbox E3 briefing!

Oh I fully intend to! I loved the first book. I have the trilogy box set I got for Christmas last year. After Words of Radiance I plan to read Eye of the World, then probably go back for Well of Ascension. Oathbringer is getting its US mass market paperback release at the end of August, and I plan to read it then. I also am going through The Witcher series, but so far I've been able to read those in about a day and a half per book. They're significantly more light than Sanderson. After Oathbringer I'll polish off Hero of Ages if I don't finish it before August. Of course, these plans could go completely to crap, so who knows! Yeah it's not really a big deal, I just feel like Shallan blushing is a detail that doesn't need to be added so often. She did it three times on one page earlier in the book, haha. I don't mind pattern too much, as he's kind of otherworldly, and his buzzing represents a lot I feel.

I've got a couple things on my list. Obviously the two you mentioned, plus I'm excited for the new Animal Crossing, Gears 5, the new Watch Dogs, Jedi: Fallen Order, Halo Infinite, and whatever other surprises there might be. -
I finished Mistborn: The Final Empire earlier this week! As for my complaint, it boils down to two words. Shallan blushed. I feel like you could cut fifty pages from Words of Radiance just by removing all the instances it's written out. I feel like at this point in WoR, I know shallan well enough to know when she blushes so I don't need to read it every single time, lol.

Haha, I know the feeling. It's been a joy to re-connect with my old bookworm self. This is the first time in a LONG time I've been able to read for myself, not something dictated by a class, and I'm so into it again. I forgot how much I missed it. Sadly though, it's really distracted me from all the video games I have to play and finish still! E3 is going to make that even harder with the announcements of MORE stuff I can't wait to play! -

I need to get back to days gone soon. I haven't played much for games lately. Just some Blackout in CoD, and Galaxy of Heroes on my iPad. I've been too focused on reading, so gamewise I only spend a small amount of time of disposable stuff when I play. Haven't really had the time to immerse myself back into a story. -
I really look forward to this series so much. I really hope I get into it as much as I'm hoping I do! It seems really rewarding! I've put down a lot of the new EU Star Wars books. I used to adore Star Wars so much, and I still do in a lot of ways, but the books have become so much less than what they used to be.
-
It is indeed! My third Sanderson novel overall. It really is a thrill. I only have one small complaint about it so far, and even then, it's minor! Such a great series!
-
Yeah, I'm not usually like that either, but the red wedding is rough. Harry Potter got me in the movies a couple times, but oddly the books never really did. The last book especially has so much death in so short a time that I barely registered most of it the first read through. RE Wheel of Time: i'm to start that series right after I finish WoR (should be soon!). Interesting to know I have something to look forward to, in a devastating way, lol. That chapter by itself is longer than the first Harry Potter novel! Crazy to think about.

Leatherbound Editions: A few questions
NottTheBrave replied to NattyBo's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Sweet! When I get elantris and warbreaker, I'll probably just buy the leather bound versions then! -
I'd actually really like that. I've been tempted to order U.K. Stormlight Archive books simply because they're split up so they're easier to carry around, lol.

Finished part three of Words of Radiance. That's was a RIDE! Gonna devour the rest of this book over the weekend, I can tell. What a fantastic final sequence that was!
