Had a busy day so I didn't get to spend all of it reading like anticipated, but I have started Summer Knight, and am already nearly 200 pages in! I really liked Dreseden 1/2, but 3 and now 4 are just on another level so far for me. Really great stuff so far!

I read Dresden Files: Grave Peril all in one day last night. Burned through the whole thing, totally sucked in. LOVED it. Started Summer Knight too. I'll probably read it all day today as well!
-
Finished the second Dresden book, and am now about 200 pages into Fires of Heaven! All good stuff!

why so much secrecy from the tv set?

Filming also got shut down due to Covid, so the season hasn't been finished. I'm sure their marketing got thrown out the window when that happened, this years JordanCon got cancelled, SDCC got canceled, etc. -
Gorgeous! Expensive, but gorgeous. I don't own hardcover copies though.

Is Eye Of The World boring?
NottTheBrave replied to Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamon's topic in The Wheel of Time
I adored Eye of the World honestly. I actually started reading it out loud to my fiancé last night. The series has a LOT of awesome moments. The first half of eye of the world is definitely slower, but you'll come to have nostalgia for it too lol. I skipped reading her the prologue cause it's 100% nonsense until you get further in to the series. I know I found it grating to read when I first jumped in lol. -
The Shadow Rising has a real nasty habit of cutting to a different character just as things started getting interesting. Then it'd cut back, and those interesting things were resolved. Only to spend time building up to an event, and cutting again. It took me from September 2019 to May 2020 to finish lol. There's a lot of amazing stuff in the book, but the pacing started to grind on me and I'd have to put it down for long periods. Especially with the avalanche of new character names and backstory with Rand in the Aiel wastes. Mat also barely did anything after the mid-way point except complain about wanting to leave. That was a major downer. He really felt like he was in a holding pattern after completing this books arc for himself halfway through. He just needed to wait out the rest of the story.

I did it! Finally finished The Shadow Rising. An excellent ending. Great book too. Didn't love it as much as Dragon Reborn, but it was still really good. Probably my second favorite of the four so far.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Final Season
NottTheBrave replied to Use the Falchion's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Finally watched the whole season recently, and loved every minute of it. It plays so well all as one piece as opposed to broken up week to week. Beautiful stuff, and a reminder of what Star Wars can be when people who care about it make it. -

I'm re-addicted to Overwatch personally. Love it! -
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix, as well as Avatar The Last Airbender. Absolutely love both!

Finished FF7 remake after 45 hours for my first playthrough. Really looking into digging into multiple NG+ runs because its like... one of my new favorite things lol. I'm obsessed at this point. I'm shocked I loved it so much. -
About halfway through it at this point, and I'm enjoying it. I read a few reviews in advance, and I see some peoples complaints, but I guess those same reviews warned me, so nothings bothered me too much so far! Hoping I like the rest of the book as much as I have so far. Either way though I'm definitely in for the long haul. I already love Harry so much lol. Definitely the best wizard named Harry I've come across.

Been playing FF7 Remake, and I'm... kind of in love with it? I think it's easily the best thing the final fantasy team has released since the Square enix merger. They've just really nailed the character interactions and I love that about it. -
Read The Dresden Files: Storm Front. Really enjoyed it! It's got a lot of issues, most notably the fact that Harry kind of needs to take a fridge cold shower through every interaction with a woman he has, but overall, it still captured me. Obvious growing pains that accompany a debut novel as well. Really looking forward to starting Fool Moon later tonight.

Still plugging away at The Simpsons on Disney+. We're mid season 8 now. Also this current season of Survivor, which has been excellent! Outside of that, just a heck of a lot of YouTube stuff if I watch anything.
-
Season 2 already wrapped filming. They will definitely focus their post production assets on finishing this season. Disney + needs it, as it seems like none of the marvel shows finished production before the virus took full effect.

Thank god no one has picked Curse! Lol. One of the worst things I've ever read. My favorite book and film was always Order of the Phoenix. Luna is one of my favorite fictional characters ever, so her introduction has a special place in my heart. Evanna Lynch played her perfectly too. The books and films both had great trade offs. We missed a lot of my favorite stuff from the book when they went to the ministry, but it was balanced with more Luna. I really just loved how massive that book was, and while the A plot with Harry wasn't my favorite, I loved just how much world building there was in book 5. I don't know if my thoughts would be as positive on a re-read, but I have my happy memories. Movie wise they just did a great job adapting pretty much all the important material there. Unlike HBP, which focused WAY too much on the romance and dumped all the important exposition, the OotP film really focused in on the important parts of the book and excised the material it could get away with. Some silly changes, like the initial flight from Harry's house, but done for the sake of pacing and keeping the audience engaged. Beyond that I actually like most of the films, outside of HBP. GoF was also kind go disappointing in its cuts. That was a long book, but more of it felt plot relevant compared to OotP, so the cuts in the film were much more noticeable. There's something so magical about 1-3's film adaptations.

FF7 remake also features a form of new game plus for you to go various choices that you missed the first time. There's also content that can only be accessed in said NG+. Also, plenty of people are in lockdown without work and plenty of time to kill. -
Finished Edgedancer a little bit ago! Had a lot of fun with it. I really like Lift, so it was a good time for me!

No spoilers, obviously, but I'm curious how you'll feel when you get to the ending. I'm looking forward to playing it myself. My copy will finally be here on Friday it looks like. Had it fully spoiled, and let's just say there's definitely spoilers even as someone who was very familiar with the original. Been playing Animal Crossing, RE3, and RE Resistance lately! -

Finally beat Doom 2016 in prep for Eternal. Flat out one of the best games of the generation, if not one of the best FPS games ever made. Going to re-play to get all my secrets and what not. (Even bought Doom 93 on switch too!) -
I'm not! I tend to just write when I can. When I do, I sit there and plow through several thousand words lol.

You can do it! Put that universe to good work, and tell some stories!
