  2. Shardplate cannot be destroyed, but instead cracked and lose stormlight. It could have also been lost at sea or in unreachable places. what
  3. The number of separate personalities that Shallan maintains isn't healthy and would hurt her a lot in any long-term relationship. It would be like trying to date three different people at once.
  4. There are far more Blades. As plate is earned as a Radiant reaches the Fourth Ideal, it would be less common than Blades earned at the Third Ideal.
  5. I would guess that some part of Shallan sees Plate and Blade as a very masculine thing, and tries to ignore her ability to summon it like a proper lady. She is willing to summon her blade, but only when under extreme circumstances or when in a different personality. Remember how she had to create Radiant? On Roshar, female shardbearers are very uncommon. Fighting is seen as a males-only activity. If this was ingrained deep enough into her that she had to make another person to train with her blade (not fight, just train), imagine how bad it would be if she tried to summon her plate. Part of how she is leveling up in her oaths, especially by the end of Oathbringer, is by accepting her different personalities as part of herself (Shallan). Forcing her into her plate would likely break her down and take her backward progress-wise.
  6. Hi Fehologist! Welcome to the Shard. To answer your question, yes, there are unpublished works available. Aether of NIght can be requested on the above thread. Several chapters of Dragonsteel Prime can be accessed via Brandon's website. Another short fiction, The Silence Divine, can be accessed via the below thread. Note that Silence Divine contains major spoilers for Stormlight 1-3.
  7. Created based on discussion on other thread. Does Shallan have her plate yet, and has she had it at any points in the past?
  8. That makes a lot of sense. But! she swore her earlier set of ideals (the ones she swore as a kid) without being pressed down memory lane. However, Pattern says that she has to speak a truth to summon her blade/level up. This could be one of those. Also, we are quite off topic. I think the original discussion was about glyphs on the blades and plate. Somebody, please make a separate thread for the Shallan discussion. EDIT: Here is a thread for discussion Shallan's progression in the oaths and her plate/blade
  9. That could be interpreted in several ways. It could be her lying to Adolin. It could be her lying to Adolin and herself. But she also could just not know.
  10. Can Lerasium be soulcast? Could a Lightweaver or Elsecaller turn stone into Lerasium, Atium, or Ettmetal?
  11. I feel like Shallan had access but it isn't mentioned in the Coppermind.
  12. Lunamor, I am offend.
  13. Add your own! Kaladin and Adolin start dating Shallan lightweaves herself a boyfriend Renarin and Rushu and Navani invent sliced bread and the wheel Adolin accidentally resurrects Sadeas Sadeas conquers all of Roshar and unites them under the Iron Throne Sadeas realizes his true Calling is to unite Westeros instead and leaves Rock and Lopen start a restaurant called the One-Armed Herdazian Lift eats tons of chouta and farms stormlight at the OAH The economy collapses due to the aforementioned farming Moash becomes a Highprince but then goes to Reshi Isles because that was hard work and he wants a vacation Venli becomes a full willshaper and makes statues of Eshonai everywhere The Parshendi decide that the whole war thing was a bad idea and go to OAH to eat pancakes The Parshendi get into a pancake eating contest with Lift and lose The Parshendi go massively into debt due to contest Debt starts another war
  14. Ten orders at School: Windrunner: Class President. Flies to and from school. Skybreaker: Slaughters everyone at dodgeball and yells at people who are out of dress code. Dustbringer: Famous for setting the school on fire after failing a test. Edgedancer: Slides around between classes and "accidentally" grew the principal's orchid into a massive monster. Truthwatcher: Always tattles on everyone and is the class gossip, sometimes lightweaving things that didn't happen so there is never a dull moment. Lightweaver: Lightweaves homework into a completed state, forges signatures on permission slips, and hides the sound of the bell so they are never tardy. Elsecaller: Soulcasts annoying teachers into smoke and teleports to get to class. Willshapers: Occasionally removes all tension from school so things liquify. Stonewards: Block off corridors using stone. Bondsmiths: Tried to unite all the cliques, failed miserably and is now an outsider.
  15. You shall not win, AonEne
  16. Not anymore. I'm now a bridgeman. (Bridgewoman?) HOLY HECK I'M AN ARDENT NOW!
  17. Thank you! You should be confident in your existence! You are posting here, after all.
  18. Proud to declare myself a spren! Edit: Wow! I am now a skaa.
  19. Oathbringer, because there is so much character development and the ending is amazing. A close second is Mistborn: The Final Empire because it could be a standalone, I like the magic system, and the plot is very well thought out.
  20. I was carrying these around and I covered the covers almost all the time because the art was so bad. It looked like a bad romance written in the 1970s by a lonely housewife desperate for adventure. I am petitioning to rename LoC to "Disproportionate Men In Loose Shirts Flexing In Front of Swooning Ladies". And Moraine(?) serving the others tea on TSR makes no sense. She had them serving her tea in the first few books.
