  1. Lift can't burn metals. She is not a Mistborn or Mistling. If she did manage to hack the system she would just fuel her surges off of those metals.
  2. Ada is a real aon Transport from Elantris is cheap. Transport too Elantris costs just as much for them as it does for everyone else. Not true. Every Elantrian of sufficient education can cure cancer. Considering they are functionally immortal they have ample time to study. They should all be curing cancer. Having them make restaurant food is a waste of time. See above. This is really kind of sad. Instead of doing things that only they can do and that benefit the world at large you expect these people to work in restaurants. Providing sufficient food is one thing. Everyone needs to eat but I see absolutely no reason why on earth they should bother cooking for us. Of course it has an economy. Scarcity still exists and they must find a way of managing limited resources.
  3. That is certainly one possibility. I am in the until someone Sibling bonds the problem will not get solved camp.
  4. I do not think that having Dalinar zap the pillar with some stormlight will instantly fix everything(with the Sibiling and the tower).
  5. We do? How?
  6. To the best of my knowledge. Every question of that nature has been RAFOed.
  7. Completely sure. Sources: Reddit Idaho Falls signing (Dec. 29, 2018) #2 Share Copy Play/Pause Questioner Dalinar Ascends, right? Like, right then, there. Brandon Sanderson I have RAFO'd that. Whether he is Ascending or not is a RAFO. Questioner Okay, because I know he kind of mentions from that, I don't know how to say his name but the older guy who has the Diagram-- Brandon Sanderson Taravangian, yeah. Whether that deserves to be a capital "A" or not is a matter of argument. It can be disputed. Questioner I guess my main question would just be Dalinar's now able to pull Stormlight and give it to people now. Brandon Sanderson He definitely can. That is a Bondsmith power, so. Questioner That is a Bondsmith power, okay. Brandon Sanderson That is specifically a Bondsmith power. Questioner Because my roommate was saying well, the Stormfather was surprised he could do that or was the Stormfather surprised that he was able to bridge-- Brandon Sanderson He was surprised by what was happening to Dalinar as a whole. Questioner Oh okay, that's what I thought because I was like, because I felt like the Stormlight, that power would be a Bondsmith power. Brandon Sanderson Let's say that the Stormfather and Odium were seeing something in Dalinar that, perhaps, the average person watching even who is knowledgeable about Surges would not completely understand... But he will be able to use that power and Bondsmiths in the past have used that same power. Footnote: Brandon clarified that he might have been unintentionally misleading in his answers to this question during his Stormlight 4 Update 1. Meanwhile the Stormfather clearly states that Dalinar is the first to do what you describe.
  8. Dalinar can't open those just on command.
  9. Just use aon Ada. Streets are magically clean. They could have been payed in goods that Elantrians produced. A sort of gift economy if you will. You need to think Activate at it really hard. However if you are going to make a "template" food it will eventually taste bland because you will get no verity. Imagine eating the same meal every day for weeks. Also making a fully complex meal sounds like a waste of Elantrain time when they could be curing cancer. There are a limited number of Elantrains and they can each draw aons only so quickly. Sure but then you need to store and distribute that food that you have created. Generally the best food has a really short shelf life.
  10. Please add this to my thread here.
  11. Keep in mind that to use Nightblood this way (I have large misgivings about the effectiveness of using a Larkin) you would also have to have enough investature to fuel him throughout the experience and if that much is available to you then odds are the Unmade is considerably down the threat level.
  12. That would also make sense but I have not seen them do it. However they do have some way of predicting them (or at least have gotten quite good at guessing over the years) because they came to the same conclusion that Dalinar's stormwardens did about the number of highstorms before the weeping.
  13. Philosophically speaking it might be accurate to consider both Ruin and Preservation as two parts of a greater whole. If you want to call this balance feel free. Saze came to a different conclusion but it is by no means definitive.
  14. In theory. It almost certainly would. Also Larkin have trouble with spren as they are identity locked and this is the kind of spren that has a high level identity I doubt a Larkin would be effective.
  15. Highstorm strength should not matter for the transformation. The problem is predicting them. The listeners of Eshonai's mother's generation had no written word. Calculating a highstorm date accurately requires advanced mathematics.
  16. My point was that it was not drained. Lirin was in a room of injured people and had at least one infused sphere. If he could use progression even unconsciously it should have manifested at this point and the sphere would have become dun.
  17. Why would she and to whom would she?
  18. How exactly is it helpful to have another metal when you are a god fighting another god?
  19. In that case either duraluminum or aluminum bullets are your best options IMO.
  20. He had an infused sphere in his pocket when he met Kaladin. If he was draining it he would have noticed.
  21. 5 Share Copy Kogiopsis (paraphrased) How long before the events of Elantris did Odium kill Aona/Devotion and Skai/Dominion? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Same time as the origins of the seons. #3 Share Copy Viper (paraphrased) At one point someone [on 17th Shard] asked you if seons were Shards of-- Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Aona. Viper (paraphrased) Devotion ... yeah Aona, and you said that was close. My question is: are the Aons at the HEART of the seons Shards of Devotion? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) No, but close. Viper (paraphrased) But... I was sure... the floating Aon at the heart, that's not a Shard... Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) *taking pity* You're close but a word is wrong. You're using the wrong terminology. Viper (paraphrased) SPLINTER. Are the Aons at the heart of seons SPLINTERS of Aona? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Yes. You need 70 people for that.
  22. Syl is not Rock. She may be better at this kind of thing. But you still have not answered why he is not using Regrowth.
  23. The returned dies.
  24. I doubt it. As far as we know Renarin is unprecedented. Also he if he had regrowth powers he would be using them on the wounded. Also Syl would likely have noticed.
  25. This probably works.
