Yeah but I think she was flaring and it was a deeply personal experience. Vin concluded it was just an external version of the same phenomena.

You can't do anything to your own gold shadow either.

It is the same metal but for other people. Assuming you had a decent bio of them you could probably make it work.

Using that atium alloy of gold with forging would allow the kind of unsavory manipulation of others that is usually not possible.

I don't see this fight happening. If it ever got to the point where the two of them had to fight Kelsier would kill Kaladin in his sleep.

Yes. Shallan can get rid of a hang over. The withdrawal symptoms could be avoided but the craving would still be there.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Karger replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When every fantasy book title seems like a rip off of TFE. When you are confused by the fact that your sibling did not immediately read a 1300 page book despite your insistence that it was excellent(WoK). -
Welcome

The thrill was the spren in the bond so the latter half of your statement is a bit odd. We also don't know if such a bond could be made permanent.

Conversely I fear that we will get into a big long are we good for each other plot that I really don't want. I hope they have some trouble but at the same time.

Agreed. Defo agree. The deaths of any of the main 13 characters or of major bridge four people. Both Heralds remain crazy the entire book. Some kind of artificial cap on the number of radiants due to spren reluctance. Renarin's role making no sense but being super important. Oathbringer had enough foreshadowing for a one off but I kind of want to avoid a repeat. A lack of resolution of the Nightblood sub plot.

I think it would be something more like an algorithm. Lightweaver training like game of faces from GoT.

I personally think that both Rock and Ryshadium bond spren in a different way. Perhaps purelake fish as well.

Shoudn't this be in cosmere discussion?

How does nightblood fit into the Cosmere timeline?

All of Warbreaker is before SA. -
A Skybreaker embarking on a crusade is taking a leap of faith. They must trust that the law and their own judgement is sound regardless of what they encounter or how bad it seems. The only other ideal I see as possible in this situation that could hold true across all orders is mercy. However mercy has its own problems, not all orders need it explicitly and is broadly covered under the third ideal, fairness, that I think is pretty well established. This is the earliest iteration I could find of my reasoning for both of you.

This was my assumption as well.

No problem.

It is still a possibility. The shorter the writing the faster it can be produced. It is kind of like an inverse square law in terms of time.
-
Welcome. This should help.

It could just be the surrounding preservation investiture SA spoilers

Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan. I honestly think it is excellent despite a lackluster opening. Well written, interesting and with a plot structure a bit like Brandon's and a bit like GRRM. The plot itself is a bit cliche.

[OB] Shadesmar, Spren Economics and Spren Children
Karger replied to Hoiditthroughthegrapevine's topic in Stormlight Archive
Feel free to post this in my hall of theories. I would also be miffed if it is true but you do demonstrate excellent reasoning and it meets all of my criteria. For the record it is but we have not seen how yet. But the gemstones are a renewable resource that can be grown at will. This will be necessary to economic advancement anyway.- 46 replies
