  1. Tashi smiled and began to inventory the bar. “Stay as long as you like. And do let me know if you want anything other than water.” @EmulatonStromenkiin
  2. “Nothing too loud, nothing that will destroy the furniture. No emotional Allomancy on the staff. No speedbubbles in the hallways. If you wanna duel, do it outside. No walking through walls. Don’t set fire to anything.” Tashi shrugged. “Y’know. Common courtesy.” @EmulatonStromenkiin
  3. “Right, right.” Tashi made a tick mark next to Room 9 and looked over the rest of the vacancies. “There’s… Room 3 on the ground floor. Just been cleaned.” She gathered the key and slid it toward Balance. “You can pay now or settle up tomorrow morning.”
  4. Tashi winked at Sam before rummaging around in a drawer for the key to Room 9. “We barkeepers are known for our long memories, eh gancho? But luckily we Herdazians are not, snd I was a Herdazian before I was a barkeeper. So all is forgotten.” She held up the key and shook it; it jingled cheerily against the little wooden tag stamped with the number 9. @Emery the Windrunner
  5. Sure you can! Might just take a couple eras
  6. Tashi pulled Mr. Daelith’s large appointment book out from beneath the main bar and thumped it onto the counter, opening it to the latest day. She ran a finger down the list, then tapped the latest entry. ”Room 9 is available. Second floor, nice view of the street. Just remember,” she gave Sam a mock-stern glance, “no Steelrunning inside.” @Emery the Windrunner
  7. “Nice to meet you, Sam,” Tashi said, pausing a moment to duck around the bar near to the front desk. She thought she’d heard a newcomer enter in that way. “In here if you please! Bit short-staffed today but there’s drink and music and good company!” @Voidus She swung back in, all smiles at the thought of another lodger. More lodgers meant more drinks and more drinks meant more tips. “It’s one firemark a night, and that includes two meals and a bath,” she said to Sam. @Emery the Windrunner ”As to your ‘Aln,’ that’ll be Alanis, head of the Scholar’s Guild. But as I said, their headquarters got wiped out by something big and fast. No one really knows what did it. I can ask around to see where they’re meeting these days - if they are.” @EmulatonStromenkiin
  8. Hey so @Emery the Windrunner is your bulletin thread IC or no? Because generally we just discuss what is going on in this thread.
  9. At last, I have arrived. I can’t top this honor.
  10. Ene will ship anything, she’s like the FedEx of RP
  11. “Cousins,” Tashi shrugged, trying half heartedly to banish the solemn mood. “My parents and brothers and sisters all packed up and left years back. They’re around here somewhere. But yes, I’ve got people back home. You?” She crossed the front room to where Mr. Daelith had set up a Scadrian phonograph, setting a record on and winding the device. As it began to spin, Tashi gently swung the spindle arm over the record and placed it in the first groove. The bar was filled with the pleasing, slightly-scratchy sound of tinkling piano music. If there was to be dark talk, at least there could be light music.
  12. Tashi’s face broke out in a bright smile at the mention of Roshar, and she swept the two clips off the bar before nudging his other spheres back towards him. ”Happy to accept spheres of all sorts, gancho, dun or otherwise, though unless you’re looking to rent a room or buy out half the bar, you can keep your marks.” Her face fell a bit at the thought of all the trouble back home, glad that her family had the good sense to get out before things really started falling apart. ”Glad you made it out of Shadesmar in one piece,” she said. “It’s getting tougher and tougher to cross these days.” @Emery the Windrunner
  13. “Sure do.” Tashi pulled the new fellow a glass of craft soda flavored with citrus and vanilla. “Are you looking to start a tab?”
  14. Tashi counted out the man’s strange money and shrugged. “Looks alright to me, Balance.” She stepped into the kitchen and ladled up a bowl of stew, setting it before him with a smile. ”As for the Scholar’s Guild, well, you might have a bit of a rough time there. Whole place was demolished, some sort of animal attack as far as I’ve heard it. Some of them got sent to the hospital, the rest…” She trailed off, as of to say “who knows?” “Flick my sparks, but you’re not wrong about strange things going on around here. Makes a girl glad to have her Gold where she can see it.” Tashi tapped the little gold hoop set through her left nostril with a wink. Just then, the door opened and slammed shut with enough force to rattle the windows. Tashi reached below the bar where Mr. Daelith kept the old ironwood truncheon, then relaxed as she saw the sheepish look on the newcomer’s face. “Oi!” Tashi called, one hand on her hip. “No Steelrunning inside. Makes the insurance premiums cost more than a damn Ryshadium. Now what’ll it be?” @EmulatonStromenkiin @Emery the Windrunner
  15. "Yes," Lita said, spearing a piece of chicken cutlet with her fork. "That seems like the best course of action." There was something soothing in the way her knife sliced through the meat, a sense of method, of predictability, of control. She took a breath, reaching inward to begin burning Tin, only to find that her reserve was shockingly low. When did I...? She hadn't flared her Tin in hours; there should be plenty left, nearly all of it. Tin was the slowest-burning of all the metals. What had caused her to use so much? Her sense of unease rose, that prickling sensation travelling down her back and across her shoulders like a finger drawn across her spine. She took another drink of water, then rolled her neck, trying to dissipate the knot of tension that had begun tightening at the base of her skull. A tiny pulse of pain bloomed on her right side, between her two last ribs. Damn port. How much had she drunk? And what had possessed her to do so in front of a new acolyte? Lita ran a hand through her hair, skewering her last piece of chicken with slightly more force than was necessary. She had apparently just taken a shower, though she felt as though she could use another one. "Do you need a change of clothes?" Lita stood and addressed Laurelai. "I imagine many things might be too short for you, but perhaps one of the longer dresses would work." She turned, heading towards the bedroom and adjoining closet, running a hand down her neck again. It did feel like she had been burning Tin - a lot of it. Her skin was hot, while her palms were cold and clammy. Lita took the moment alone to remove the gold coin from her robe pocket and turn it over in her fingers. It was smooth and cold, and heavier than a coin of its size ought to be. Lita flicked it up, then caught it in her other hand and danced it over the backs of her fingers. The motion felt easy as lying, the muscle memory of a habit ingrained beyond intention to reflex. Light winked off one of the faces, throwing a golden refraction onto the wall. Gold on the wall, script in a thousand foreign tongues - Lita blinked, then shook her head, setting the coin on her dressing table and picking out a simple green pencil dress. She stepped behind a dressing screen and shucked off her robe, draping it over the screen and calling back toward the door. "Feel free to borrow whatever you like, rusts, I'm sure some of these frocks have only been worn once." She slipped on the dress, arching her back to get the right angle on the zipper, and slid the coin off the dressing table with two fingers. Mmmm, no pockets, she mused, weaving the coin between her fingers for a moment more and then tucking it into the neckline of her dress. Its surface was so cold it almost burned, pressed as it was right below her collarbone. Lita didn't manage to suppress the shiver this time. "I'm curious as to your 'other methods' of discovering the answers to our mysterious lawyer and 'doctor,'" Lita said, pulling a comb through her long red hair and coiling it into a bun. "Some method of Forgery, I would guess." She secured it with a stylized hairspike, then opened another drawer to retrieve a vial of Tin, which she drank without ceremony. The familiar feeling of a full reserve was reassuring, though it did little to banish that prickling unease. If anything, it augmented it. @Voidus
  16. What a shock.

  18. Fell in love with my new NPC typical
  19. Tashi nodded, filling a cup with water as well as setting a pot on the stove to boil. No harm, she thought. A pot of tea was always a good idea, especially for a fellow who looked as pensive as this one. ”We’ve got stew in the pot, or I could make you a sandwich. I’m sure there’s some kind of cheese around here somewhere…” she ducked into the kitchen, poking through the shelves, before giving up and returning to the bar. “As for a room, would you be looking for a few nights or longer? Mr. Daelith handles the leases but if you’re only staying for a bit, it’s…” Tashi counted in her head, “one firemark a night, and that gets you two meals and a bath. If you’ve got different money there’s a chart somewhere around here.” Tashi tapped her flinty nails against the bar top and considered the man’s last question. ”As to information, well, that depends on the kind you’re lookin for. A girl hears all sorts of things behind a bar, if you get my meaning, though nothin’ gets ya nothin’ eh, gancho?” Tashi took a single clearchip out of her pocket and rolled it around on the bar. “And if there’s a question I can’t answer, well, I’m sure I can point you in the right direction.” @EmulatonStromenkiin
  20. The door opened, revealing the face of a young Herdazian woman with dark tan skin and brown ringlets. Her eyes were a pleasant toffee color, and bright with a smile. A smile that faltered as she caught sight of the downpour outside. ”Taln’s teeth, it sure is coming down out there isn’t it? Reminds me of home! Well, don’t stand out there gawping, gancho, come in!” She bustled into the main room and quickly slid behind the bar, tugging absently at the glove on her left hand. ”Drink? I’d guess you’ve had enough of water. We’ve got nearly everything, though I’ll warn you, if you order Horneater white I’ll pour it for you, and make you drink it, too. Stuff’s damnation expensive to import, for what’s little more than paint thinner.” She smiled again, leaning on the bar. “Name’s Tashi. Welcome to Mac’s Boarding House.” @EmulatonStromenkiin
  21. You know what I do not remember that XD But putting those to use would absolutely cause some serious scrutiny to fall upon your character
  22. Yes this is what would do it, I think.
  23. So, any outside knowledge of hemalurgy would definitely attract the attention of the DA, especially in this version of the world. Don’t get me wrong, that sounds fun! But you should know what you’re in for Also fine so to the world isn’t actually perfect - but it’s much nicer
