@Lord Spirit, just so you know, Plastique is going to end up at the docks at the same time Fish (and maybe Swordfish) is, assuming Fish is on time.

Jenny didn’t respond, still fast asleep. She shifted slightly at the noise, however.
-
The bandages covering her side were now getting a bit more red. Not at an alarming rate, but they would likely need to be changed the next day. Lightning burns could be seen randomly dispersed on her skin, although the ambrosia had made them become faint. She was paler than usual, but her breathing was deep and steady.
-
Thank you. Jenny then proceeded to instantly pass out.
-
Jenny shook her head to decline drinking it, although not quite as emphatically as last time. Maybe sleeping will help. I’m very tired. Her exhaustion now outweighed her paranoia that Roy was going to attack her in her sleep. I should probably lie down for that. Is it ok if you carry me over to my bag? She’d placed her pack up against a tree near the edge of their impromptu campish area. It felt like it was less out in the open.
-
It hurts. Jenny peeked at her bandages. There was a little bit of red on them, but they weren’t soaked with blood. That was probably a good sign. She was tempted to poke them to see how painful that would be, but managed to hold herself back. Everything kind of aches, actually. I think it’s the lightning. Roy’s spear was a very effective weapon.
-
Jenny just stared at Ed’s face, smiling softly. He looked wonderful. Everything about him was wonderful. He was kind, smart, courageous. Perfect was the wrong word. He had his flaws and weaknesses, just like everyone else. He felt… right. Yeah, that was the word. Right.
-
Jenny grinned widely. Apparently it was obvious what she had been trying to do. She was glad Ed was able to read body language better than she could. 3 - 3, we’re even now. And thanks.
-
So will I. I will always try. Jenny tried to shift a bit so she could kiss Ed, but that attempt hurt too much to be successful. Gosh darn that stupid hole in her side. Normally she would’ve tried to power through the pain, but this was an internal injury. She didn’t want to cause potentially seriously harmful damage.
-
It shouldn’t be either of our turns, you’re right. But this wasn’t your responsibility. It was physically impossible for you to protect me. We can’t stop every bad thing, Ed. We are going to get hurt, and sometimes there just isn’t anything you can do to stop it. We’re trying to help, though. That’s what matters. Jenny turned her head and gave Ed a kiss on the cheek. Fortunately that wasn’t painful to do.
-
Jenny shook her head. You’ve already injured yourself like this trying to protect me before. It’s my turn for that now. That’s very sweet of you, though. She really wanted to kiss Ed, but shifting from her current position would be painful.
-
Jenny shook her head emphatically. I don’t want to waste it. If one of us gets very seriously injured, they might die without it. I’m not going to die right now. If we need to fight I’ll drink some so I can help. I can eat ambrosia instead for now, we have more of that. It’ll take a few days, but I’ll be fine eventually. She smiled a bit mischievously. I selfishly like having an excuse to lean on you a lot, anyways.
-
Jenny nodded and continued to mentally transcribe her words. Mostly his, yeah. I still feel bad about it, although I know that doesn’t make total sense. She looked Ed over as best as she could while still leaning against him. Did the vines hurt you at all? Oh, wait, shoot, gah, Aaron. Jenny glanced around, locating the kid on the ground. He collapsed. He might need help.
-
Jenny smiled excitedly. Hi Gift! Her greeting was directed at Gift, not for the tablet. Please write “Thank you so much for saving me earlier. I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention and got hurt, and I’m sorry that’s making you hurt too. Also, I think you look really handsome right now.”
-
Jenny nodded. Ed had done exactly what she’d been attempting to do. He knew her well. An idea then occurred to her she felt stupid for not having earlier. She mimed writing on a piece of paper with her hands and looked at Ed questioningly.
-
Ed was smiling, so it was fine that he didn’t understand her attempt to tell him that she could protect herself from Roy. Jenny grinned and tried to wrap an arm around Ed too, but rapidly aborted the action with a gasp of pain. Stretching her arm out that far was a bad idea. She kept smiling a genuine smile, though. Jenny was now leaning on Ed heavily. She was tired, but something in her still didn’t trust Roy. She didn’t want to close her eyes around him.
-
Jenny smiled when Ed put his head back on hers and leaned on him a little more. She held up a number one and a thumbs up. She then held up a number two and a thumbs down. She pointed at Sword, pointed at herself, pointed at Roy, then shrugged.
-
Jenny shook her head. She held up one finger for the number one. She pointed at herself, then at her smile. She then held up two fingers for the number two. She pointed at Sword, then herself, then at Roy. Jenny gave a thumbs up. She paused for a half second, then mimed resting her head on Ed’s head, pointed at him, then gave a thumbs up. She liked when he rested his head on hers.
-
Jenny paused, thinking about how she could respond. She pointed at herself, then at her smile. She then pointed at her dagger. She was attempting to communicate that she was happy and armed, but she’d always been better at shadow puppets than charades. Jenny had no idea how effective this would be.
-
Jenny noticed Ed stop smiling and frowned. He probably thought he shouldn’t be happy again. Normally she would’ve verbally explained that he deserved to be happy, but she couldn’t talk at the moment. So she pointed at him, smiled, pointed at her smile, then pointed at him again and made a thumbs up.
-
Jenny nodded in assent. Not moving was probably a good idea, although she hated the idea of not moving. She liked leaning against Ed, though. She would’ve scooted over to lean on him, but decided to fully commit to not moving. She was honestly a bit scared. Jenny was used to being injured, but she hadn’t been in real danger like this before. She could do some serious damage if she wasn’t careful right then.
-
Jenny nodded silently. Edgar wasn’t threatening Roy anymore, that was good. She looked at Ed and pointed at herself, then the nearest tree. She mimed a walking motion with her fingers. It would be nice to lean against something. Sitting up was hard, but she didn’t want to lie down either.
-
Jenny placed a hand on Edgar’s arm. ”Edgar, I think it’ll be ok. He’s never acted this nicely before, I think he’s actually sorry. We can be careful still, though. We-“ She cut off, grimacing again. She spoke again in a softer voice that trembled slightly. ”Wow, talking hurts.” Hopefully that’d make Edgar agree with her to keep her from talking more. None of what Jenny was saying was lies, so she didn’t feel bad about this. Talking really did hurt.
-
“No, it’s ok. This isn’t your fault. You stopped this from killing me.” Jenny tried to stand but stopped, grimacing. The adrenaline had left her system and her side suddenly hurt terribly. This was probably the worst injury she’d had. Was this how Ed had felt earlier? She now felt even worse knowing that Ed had gone through this too. Hopefully she’d get over it quicker than he did.
