    Being a force and not a physical manifestation, the shots were harmless. She turned them into petals anyway. Granted, because she was straining so hard, the petals were half made of metal, but it was still effective.

    When the blast hit, Thought's grip was loosened for a moment as she recoiled. She then made her physical form dematerialize and returned to forcing her way into the cracks in AJ's mind. She used what little influence she had to make AJ's aim go haywire, hoping to make him accidentally hit himself.

    Thought left her physical manifestation in the ice, but moved her consciousness around AJ's, pushing as hard as she could.

    At that moment, (still dead set on holding the mind of her victim) Thought moved into the Physical Realm. Right behind AJ.

    Thought barreled through the boundary, clawing at AJ's mind. An Epic, even one as powerful as whatever Calamity is cannot obstruct a Shard. Not completely. Thought decided not to chance it with the lasers and turned them into harmless petals.

    Being in the Spiritual Realm meant Thought could do whatever she wished with the projectiles. She turned them into Ideas and grabbed a hold of AJ's mind. Firmly. Painfully.

    She laughs ominously, voice echoing around AJ. She's in the Spiritual Realm, away from human interference. But her presence is everywhere. "Ah, she said, "I'm afraid you've underestimated me."

    Marsh and Star didn't pay attention though. They were too busy hugging one another.

    Star held him, happy to be held and very happy to be the source of Marsh's happiness. She loved him. She loved him and nothing else mattered.

    Star let out a "Praise the Survivor!" before realizing that the Survivor was right there and had nothing to do with Marsh's now whole state.

    Kelsier supposed he did want to have kids, but he had Lift and there was still a part of him that was worried.
