  1. Star rested her hand on Xino's back, giving him her strength as well. It wouldn't do to lose him. Not like this.
  2. Star was a bit concerned about him. He was only a character, albeit a very powerful one. She couldn't help but think... It was like Xino and Pheonix were two sides of a coin. One with enough courage and will to break reality, the other with the kind of bravery that let him get close to the heart of the darkest monster.
  3. "Xino..." Star muttered, shielding her eyes. "Picking up on anything?"
  4. "Maybe I could find her telepathically," Star suggested.
  5. "No," Star said. "Apparently not. What do you think will happen when they come back? Will the duplicates fuse with each other? Will it change them? I didn't even know we had a version of Shadow still in this reality. Maybe she's hurt or... something." Tamika coursed herself for not taking the opportunity to go with Xino and Star. She wanted to do something, that would have been the perfect distraction. She twiddled her thumbs, bored. Sometimes, Tom's involvement in practically everything got to be a bit overwhelming. There hadn't been enough time between the cosmic-level, world-ending threats and magical gizmos for time simply spent together. Sometimes, Tami got to thinking she was just another one of Tom's side projects. While it was true that she had changed from the constantly self-deprecating woman from three thousand years ago, those kinds of thoughts still made her heart decay.
  6. Star passed through the flames, coming out onto a giant plane of nothingness. The ground was scorched, torn and ruined by the splitting of Narritive Reality. "It's just... nothingness out here. Something feels off."
  7. Star smiled faintly and nodded, following. "Where to?"
  8. "Nope." Ember shook her head. "Wait, actually, I do. Are we going to keep this channel open so we can still talk to each other?"
  9. "So," Star said. "Do Xino and I still need to find the other Shadow? What's the plan from here out?" @xinoehp512 Tamika was getting tired of sitting back. All of this Narrator stuff was frustrating to her. It was the Narrators who had taken AJ after all. And maybe he had to have died for everyone to get back, but... it was hard. Complicated.
  10. Star sighed. There was something different about her after all.
  11. "I know. I just... hope you'll make the right ones."
  12. Star shrugged helplessly. "I see my own past in your eyes. You are... You represent what I was. I can't help but feel like it's my duty to stand by you in everything."
  13. Star paled. "I just... I... I want to do more for you."
  14. Star kept her blue eyes on Heather. In their sapphire depths was great concern, and great relief at the same time. There was so much she wanted to say and do, yet something held her back.
  15. Star nodded. "That's understandable. You remember the way to the lower levels of the ship? I'm sure Tom would let you wander around down there."
  16. "Do you need anything? Anything at all?"
  17. Star smiled. Same personality as Shadow, for sure. "I'm so sorry - you must feel like you've been thrown into all of this, don't you? We'll try to help you out, I promise."
  18. Thank you. I took inspiration from the cute hug at the end of Inside Out.
  19. It had escaped Tom's ship during the confusion when the universes split. He stole the umbrella because it was a commonly held belief among handerfles that umbrellas were holy.
  20. Star stepped forward, wishing with all her heart that she could actually be there. "Hello, Heather," she said gently. "We found a way to heal you. Are you feeling any better?"
  21. "Heather," Star said. "In her mind, I saw that her name was Heather."
