    Star stood and reached out with her mind. "Shadow should be in that general direction," she said, gesturing with her thumb. "As we get closer, the signature will get stronger. Usually, I'd just teleport, but Narrating doesn't seem like a good idea at the moment."

    SoT glared. "You may have an iron will, but you have no heart."

    "Hmm. I can find Shadow with her mental signature, I think."

    SoT's mouth dropped. "She has Star and Ember for plot! I am something more. How dare you compare me to them! I am far more self aware."

    Color returned to Star's cheeks and she blinked awake. She smiled when she recognized Xino. "You got free," she said excitedly, sitting up. "Is Shadow with you?"

    SoT shrugged. "It's not my place to question my Author's motives."

    Star's mind registered Xino's presence, his touch. All of a sudden, her eyes burst open and she gasped, chest beginning to rise and fall with breath again as her heart restarted. Thump, thump, thump, thump. The low hum of Star's life force returned in Ember's mind. Still faint. But no longer mute. Ember's eyes widened. She was alive! Star was still alive!

    "It's not," SoT said flatly, "but my Author needs a place-holder here. Probably to keep you in check."

    Star's body quivered, noticing that something was different, but unsure whether it was safe to wake yet. She still hung between reality.

    "I said you should not that you could! Anything to be rid of you. You're as bad as Star was when she returned to TLT after QoS, you know that? Probably worse! Downright evil. What do you want anyway? More plot, I guess. More words. More power."

    "Both." Okay, SoT and Xino need a talk show. They argue like an old married couple and I love it.

    I love these two... "Well, personally, I'm glad we've been separated from Universe S. Better for the entire Narrational Plane."
