    Star raised an eyebrow, a small smile spreading across her lips. "I'm growing predictable, then. I'm sorry." She sighed. "Heather is a part of you. Why do you hate her so much?"

    "I think my master has brought her back for a reason," Ember said. "And Star will not let her harm you." Star looked to Shadow. "Yes?"

    Thought smiled, rocking back and forth on her toes. "Which one's mine?"

    Star hung her head. "I suppose... And..." She looked up at him. "Thank you. Thank you so much." One of her building tears fell down her cheek and she wiped her eyes.

    "Oh," Ember said again. "Do you need help?" she asked quietly.

    Ember looked at the wine bottle. "Oh," she said. "The other Shadow, she was darker than you. Is she still... sick?"
