The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Zurvanight replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
I talked with coworker the other day (the sweetest little old lady I've ever worked with) and it turns out she's a MASSIVE fantasy book reader. While we were talking about our favorite authors, she mentioned she was moving and couldn't take all her books with her and was going to donate them. Then she asked if I wanted some of them. I of course said yes! I thought it was going to be a small box of about 10 books at most. She comes in two days later with two bags filled to the brim with books. 50 in total. I need a new bookshelf now! -
New Ys X Nordics track rips just got uploaded and oh wow the good tracks are GOOD. Koguchi is quickly becoming my favorite Falcom composer next to Jindo.

"Thus will the way open to the Promised Land, and the death we have been too long denied! Thus will I, Golbez bring salvation to all!" Patch 6.5 trailer just dropped today. Growing Light is its name. In this patch we fight the final of the Twelve Gods, and learn why they chose to face us in battle. Golbez succeeded in summoning Zeromus, a piece of Zodiark's aether given form, and plans to 'save' everyone on the Thirteenth by allowing them to die at last. To stop this it looks like we go back to the First to enlist the help of Ryne, then fight our way through Baron, the kingdom in Final Fantasy IV where Cecil is from. Will the Warrior of Light and their companions stand triumphant, or will they drown in darkness? Ok the answer is obvious, we kick that oversized beetles butt.

A nice song about Zargothrax, Master of Nightmares, Keeper of Celestial Flame, Sorcerer, Bound to the Darkness, Wizard King, Chaos Incarnate.

Bumping because the newest expansion was just announced. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail This time we head to the New World, home of Blue Magic and the Mamool Ja. Other interesting things are the new next-gen graphic update, two new DPS jobs; a melee, and a caster (Yoshi-p's hint on what they are was a TMNT shirt) and Xbox support. The Free Trial was also extended to include all of Stormblood! We'll know more in the coming weeks and months at the other Fanfests in London and Tokyo.

Pretty Maids is a band that I have listened to for years but not much of their newer albums. When God Took A Day Off is such a great song.
-
Absolutely incredible!

So a Vtuber I watch, Calliope Mori, did the official theme song for the newest One Piece arc, Egghead and I can't stop listening to it.
-
This guy really took a 36 second piece of music and arranged it into a 10 minute masterpiece.
-
Avantasia is a band formed by Edguy's former lead vocalist, Tobias Sammet. This guy's voice is incredible. Such a good song, and such a great band.
-
This might be one of the best songs I've ever listened to. This whole album is incredible.

Ever since the Direct and new trailers came out I have had a renewed interest in this game. So much in fact I went out and bought a Series X just for this game haha. Starfield is going to be one of the biggest and most talked about games for the next decade. This is Skyrim level big but on a galactic scale. Everything I have seen so far has convinced me that this game will easily get 1000 hours out of me. It looks like there will be so much to do I will be overwhelmed. 1000 planets to explore that will be procedurally generated, but will have dozens of handcrafted locations to explore on those planets. Massive cities, spaceship dogfights, jetpack combat, factions, companions, alien life, super customizable guns and armor, ship building, outpost building, cooking, romance, sandwich heists! This game has everything I want. Cannot wait for 9/6!

Gloryhammer is a parody band, and an extremely amazing power metal band as well. Lots of their songs are about crazy stuff like radioactive toxic dragons, knights with lasers, space wizards, post-apocalyptic goblin warriors, etc.

I know I'm double posting but it's been a week and I'm gonna bump the thread with this masterpiece: Rhapsody of Fire is my favorite type of symphonic power metal, which incorporates baroque style music into it.
-
Power Quest is one of the best power metal bands I have ever listened to. Unfortunately they disbanded a little awhile ago, but their music is incredible and they basically perfected old school power metal.
-
Theme of one of the most evil Final Fantasy bosses I've ever fought. Her design is super cool though.
-
What an amazing mix of Final Fantasy IV themes.

Blind Guardian is great. They're a metal band who sing about fantasy books and are all avid readers. Despite its name, this song is about the Chandrian from The Kingkiller Chronicle not Stormlight Archive. However, there's a song on this album, Violent Shadows, which is about Kaladin.

"Come, face me. The hero who shattered the wheel and brought salvation to the world." Bumping because the trailer for patch 6.4, The Dark Throne was revealed today. In it, the Warrior of Light, the Scions, and Zero travel to the moon of the Thirteenth, a reflection of The Source filled with soul devouring demons, to confront Golbez, the leader of the Archfiends. What will they find there, and will they be able to save the Great Wyrm Azdaja from the clutches of darkness? The last tier of the Pandaemonium raid releases too. Last time, Pandaemonium had somehow crossed space and time and ended up in the Aetherial Sea, much to the surprise of everyone. Athena may yet still live in order to carry out her diabolical experiment. And what of Lahabrea? Will he be a friend? Or will he once more seek to destroy us? Oh and Blue Mage is getting an updated level cap and new spells so I'm super excited for that.

Not exactly a meme, but I didn't know where else to post it. I saw this on Reddit. Honkai Star Rail made a Mistborn reference.

Chapter 3 of Future Redeemed has been the most nostalgic Xenoblade chapter so far. As soon as I entered *that* area I almost screamed when the music started up.
-
@Briar King It's a prequel story but it's best to play the main game first.
-
Xenoblade is back with the absolute best music! Reminds me of Mor Ardain's day theme mixed with Torna's Battle!! and Time to Fight! You can even hear a small bit of Mechanical Rhythm.
