    He growled. "Weak."

He stepped within inches of Darkness.

The crystal of one blade dissipated, and crystal instead grew in a box around Darkness, with a small connection to the foot of the crystal.

He left a two foot by two foot hole.

    "Move, or you will die."

    Quote

    Ah, from Aether of Night.

Darkness held still.  A small smile graced his face, then he realized that Ark couldn't see it through the helmet.

In a sudden explosion of motion, the crystal exploded outwards.  Pieces were hurled to the far ends of the room like shrapnel.  And Darkness was gone from the epicenter.

    Instead, he was behind Ark.

He struck with several small knives, embedding them to the hilt on the amber.

  2. I've updated his bio, and cleared up the confusion about his channeling abilities @MacThorstenson.

    Spoiler

    Name:  Kenoth Moerevron

Physical Characteristics:  Short, stocky, close-cropped black hair.  Has a face that looks like it got punched one too many times.  Sort of a brutal-looking man.  Has the air of competence about him, and walks like he knows how to handle a sword.  Not especially broad, but he has a lean strength to him.

Investiture:  An extremely weak connection to the One Power.  To quote a phrase, "Basically Morgase level.  Can see weaves (if he had the training) and might light a candle on a very good day but that's the limit."  He has a slight affinity for the Earth.  Great at mining, guessing the location of tunnels and ores.

Skills:  Is a blademaster, and competent dueler.  Knows how to handle himself and has street smarts.  Is not afraid to kill.

Equipment:  His only special piece of equipment is a heronmark sword.

Weaknesses:  Very sensitive.  Not afraid to do damage himself, but hates it when others are hurt.  Has abandonment issues, and has a hard time getting close to people.  Is extremely claustrophobic, and hates any type of enclosed space.  Stems from a mining incident.

Family:  His father is Galvris Moerevron (Galvris has no memory of his son).  His mother is a woman named Lemia in Randland whom Galvris married and later left.

    Home Planet:  Randland

Backstory:  Was born to Galvris and Lemia Moerevron.  Galvris wasn't a male channeler at the time.  Had a happy childhood, until Rand al'Thor's amnesty went out.  Galvris, who was struggling at the time with the One Power, was told of the amnesty by Kenoth.  Galvris left, taking his family with him.  They lived actually quite happily on the farm, where Galvris taught Kenoth to be a blademaster.  However, when Galvris went mad, spiked all the other channelers, and left, Kenoth's life changed.  The madness and epic darkness made Galvris forget he had a family.  Kenoth and Lemia were blamed for Galvris's atrocities, and they fled.  Years later, Kenoth was kidnapped by worldhoppers who wanted to use him as leverage against his father (Galvris was a tyrannical epic on Earth at the time).  He killed them both, but the incident traumatized him. The kidnappers had been using the Alleyverse as a waypoint, and Kenoth found himself stranded there.  He was enslaved by a rogue guild and forced to work in mines.  One day, a section of mine collapsed and he was trapped there for days.  His father unwittingly found his half-dead form as he was making his way out of Den of Thieves.  Galvris didn't recognize him, but created a tunnel so he could escape just in case.  He escaped, and is living as a bounty hunter in the Alleyverse.

    Guild:  None

Psyche:  Quite sane.  Just a little bit sensitive and has abandonment issues.

Personality:  Is a hard man, used to having to kill, but also sensitive.  He's quite a paradox.  He's also intensely loyal, and will stand by you to the end if he says he will.

Appearence:  Usually wears a leather vest over a white shirt and jeans.  Wears his sword beside him at all times.

Ark grins. A fight. It had been far too long.

"How do you wish to do this? A formal duel? A fight to the death?"

He chuckled, taking a step forward.

    "I prefer a deathmatch, personally."

The sand around him swirled quickly, and the crystal grew in long jagged spikes along his arms. His swords grew longer still, and as he stepped, the ground shook. He was a man, in a monster suit of purple crystal. And the sand around him made it all the worse. The woman on his right, the one who had teleported him here, administered a light red poison to his blades and spikes.

    He took another step forward.

    "Ladies first."

I'm confused.  Can I get a character bio for this guy?  Also, Ark is the one that likes trees right?

Darkness said nothing, opting to let his silence intimidate his opponent.  Then, he sat on the ground.

He became perfectly still, like a stone.  Then he waited.

  4. Hey Quibble.  Just in case you don't know, it's Kaladin from discord.  Welcome to the shard.  I hope you enjoy it here.

Here's a quick guide on everything here:  General Brandon Discussion is a good place to go to talk about anything Sanderson, General Cosmere discussion is a great, spoiler-free, place to post theories or talk about the cosmere.  I would avoid subforums on books you haven't read, as they're full of spoilers.  As far as forum games go, The Last Post Wins is a great place to do spammy things without the mods noticing .  I suppose you could also go with The Longest Thread, but The Last Post Wins is better.  I created it though, so I am biased.  As far as role-playing goes, the Alleyverse is the best place to do that.  Any questions about it I'm willing to answer, as it can be a confusing place.

Hope you enjoy your time here, and welcome again to the shard!

  5. My power:

Everything I do is inhanced 1,000 times.  It's like 1,000 people are doing the same thing from the same position at the same time.  So I have super-strength, super agility, super everything.  You have to shoot me 1,000 times to kill me.

My weakness would be 1,000 of anything in one place.

My brand of evil would be evil.  I like to act macho, and killing people is a part of that.  They don't matter to me.  To me it's like killing mice.

I would be known as.... 1,000 Times Man

and would have a cheesy boxer outfit.

  7. Galvris walked in, sitting down and putting his sword on the stool next to him.  "Your strongest drink" he said.  He had no need to get approved, as he was already an approved character, but since he was the most OP character he could think of, he thought he'd just make a starting post here.

He noticed the tavern was suddenly populated with mimes, and seconds later, that train of thought was derailed, dragged through a creek, down a ravine, set on fire, smashed into a wall, and dashed to a million pieces at the bottom of a bottomless pit.

He suddenly remembered why he was here.  His duel.  He'd somehow been foolish enough to challenge Hellbent to a duel.  He'd actually lasted quite a while.  But the vast difference in power had caught up to him eventually.  He'd changed at least part of that duel to canon, so he now had third-degree burns on his forearms.  He'd chosen not to heal them.  Not only did it look cool, but it also served as a reminder to not bite off more than he could chew.

According to our current system, character advancement is only possible within the 150 points border. Given that Ark uses a NPC, I don't want to nitpick, but please keep in mind, that if you run into a discussion about who can or can't do something both the npc and the vague advancement could be problematic.

Let's just say that he's become very skilled with the sword.  He's by no means an expert yet, like he is with throwing and hand-to-hand, but he can hold his own in any fight.

Darkness drew two short katana's from his back, and twirled them in a complex, but showy, kata.  He then stepped out onto the floor, walking slowly and cautiously towards Ark.

Here we go again Ark .

  9. Darkness stood there imperiously.  He would not be intimidated by this rabble.  However, he knew he could never take them all at once.  Or even consecutively.  He might be able to take five or six, but he would tire.  There was one chance, though.

Silently, the dark figure regarded the group.  Finally he spoke, his voice raspy and distorted by the mask.  "I would challenge you to a one-on-one duel, but I realize that the Ghostblood leadership has no honor."

Without another word, he charged them.  Without drawing on his immense speed, the charge was much more dramatic.  Much more distracting too.  He pulled two heavy, long daggers from somewhere on his person, and swung them about in a very flashy manner.

In the process of engaging the point man, he dropped a small proximity bomb.  Kicking it, it rolled to the very center of the group.  It detonated, spraying shrapnel at the men.  They flew back, all sustaining serious wounds.

  10. All I remember is hours spent reading through ancient threads.

Threads so ancient, that there were many ancient people on them.  I saw the names of Kobold King, Twilightsansparkles, etc.

    Kestrel was among them.

How has Harmony attempted such a miracle, to bring back one of the old members?

Yes, you are correct Silva.  It's Darkness with cool-looking armor.  And his fighting skills have also improved from what the bio states.

Also, Dapper, I'll redo that bit of rp.

The man in dark armor stood still, even when the projectile screamed towards him.  It struck him in the shoulder, seemingly did no damage, and clattered harmlessly to the ground.

Then he moved.  Just a quick dash across the room, but it was taken so quickly, no one in the room saw it happen.  In the blink of an eye he was right next to his opponents.  He then went into action.

In a blur of motion, he drew several small fighting knives and began to lash out at his opponents.  Aiming for eyes, joints, and other weak points.  Within seconds, his opponents were bleeding from several major wounds.

Then he moved.  Just a quick dash across the room, but it was taken so quickly, no one in the room saw it happen.  In the blink of an eye he was right next to his opponents.  He then went into action.  He kicked the first man in the chest, his armored foot doing irreparable damage.  The two on the other side he grabbed by the throats.  He brought them together, slamming their heads against each other, killing them instantly.

All of this happened in the space of a second, and was over before anyone had time to react.

Three men stepped out into the great hall and walked towards the challenger. They stopped a few feet from the man, standing in combat ready posistion. The man in the center took a step forward. He was wearing Seanchan armor with a full face helmet, lacquered dark red and black and carried an Ashandarei that gleamed with a silvery color. The two men flanking him wore dark red tabards with low profile black armor underneath and had a sword and an assult rifle strapped to their backs.

The leader removed his helmet and regarded the challenger. "So. You want to lead the Ghostbloods? You have high hopes, but sadly we'll have to crush them underfoot." the man grinned and replaced his helmet, "Leave now, and you won't be stopped. If you stay, I guarantee you'll wish you never thought of this stupid idea."

The man in dark armor never moved an inch.  A black sentry, awaiting challenge.  Finally, he spoke, "I will have to kill you three.  Quite a waste."

    @Dr. Dapper

  14. A dark figure approached the city.  He stood atop a hill, overlooking his prize.  It would not be long before it was his...

He walked forwards, silently slipping through the gate.  The Aonic shielding did nothing to hinder his approach, as his Ghostblood tattoo was still good.

The grand doors of the Ghostblood great hall were flung open.  The man stood there.  He was plated in dark armor, outlined in red.  His helmet obscured his face in darkness.  He held nothing in his hands, and appeared to be unarmed.  He dramatically stepped into the center of the room, regarding all around him.

Finally, in a gravelly, distorted voice, he spoke.  "Follow me, or die.  I challenge the leaders of this guild to step forwards and face me. "

    @I think I am here. @Sorana @Ax's Boyfriend

  15. Darkness wondered the city, friendless... alone....   Nobody loved accept for that homeless over there who liked to hug people.  But he would strike back.  He would find a way to defeat them all.  He would show each and every one of them.  More importantly, he would wear cool armor and run around punching people.

In hand-to-hand combat, Darkness was unparalleled.  Give him a couple throwing knives, and he could spear the wing of a gnat without harming the insect itself.  In melee combat, he could hold his own against virtually every competitor.

However, he would need supporters.  An army.  And he knew just where to find them.

That's exactly why TUBA's baked goods are better. We put in time, effort, and quality without the added metallic taste. ;)

See the thing is, I was using that as an example.  Yes, we can afford to have sub-par quality, but we don't.  And you don't taste the metal, that would compromise our ability to trick people into spiking themselves...quality.

Why would you want a normal cookie––no matter how good––when you could have a cookie that's delicious and gives you superpowers?  Overall, we work harder on our products.  You don't know how much of a nightmare that cookie bindpoints are.

Although technically, the cookie itself doesn't have bindpoints, the spikes have to optimally placed to enter the bindpoints in the mouth.  There's a whole science devoted to cookie hemalurgy.

Nonono, The Dark Alley makes the best baked goods.  We don't even have to be good at baking, we can just spike some flavor into it.
